Talk vampire to me.

Posted in Romance on September 25th, 2008 by Cynthia Eden

If you’re a regular reader of this blog (come on, aren’t you addicted to my random musings and crazy talk?), then you might remember me talking about the time when a crew with Today’s Homeowner with Danny Lipford came by and filmed some eco-friendly segments at my house.

One of those segments aired recently, and when I saw it, I had to grin. I like to think Danny talked vampire just to make me happy. Wanna see the segment? (Hey, you get the added perk of learning about how to repel mosquitos!) And, of course, Danny, garlic doesn’t work against vampires–that’s just an old legend, everyone knows that…wooden stakes are your only real defense, and, technically, you have to be on the offensive to make ’em work. 🙂

In other news…Anya Bast is still running her most awesome contest on her blog. If you head over today, you might win a copy of HOTTER AFTER MIDNIGHT. (Scroll down a bit on the blog to see the HOTTER contest info.)

Midnight’s Master–Excerpt

Posted in Romance on September 23rd, 2008 by Cynthia Eden

After I posted the blurb for MIDNIGHT’S MASTER, Cheryl asked if I’d post an excerpt. The answer–sure!

Now, this is an unedited excerpt but it will give you a glimpse into the workings of, well, Niol:

* * *

How long would it take to get her out of the dress? He bet he could take her in to his office, have her naked and moaning in less than two minutes and—

“Take your hands off me.” Bright spots of color stained her ivory cheeks. She swallowed. Once, twice. “I’m here to talk to you about Carl and—”

He dropped his hands. Too many damn ears and eyes were on them. “If you’re not here to fuck, Holly, then don’t waste my time.”

Her mouth dropped open. “What?”

He almost smiled. Almost. But he had an image to maintain.

And, because of the little reporter, an aching hard-on.

“Humans who come into Paradise know the rules. They either come to play,” Yes, and the blond human in the booth to the left looked like she was having one hell of a time playing with her vampire, “or they come to be prey.” Simple enough.

Green eyes narrowed. “A man is dead, Niol. I want your help—”

He raised his hand. Snapped his fingers.

Her head jerked. “You didn’t just—”

Thomas, who’d just returned from his little errand with the vamp, marched to his side. “Boss?”

Niol did let his lips curve now. It was just too much fun. Ah, but the reporter’s cheeks were such a lovely red. “Thomas, do me a favor…” A brief pause. He could feel the eyes and ears on him. He glanced toward Holly, allowed himself one last look at that tempting body, then ordered, “Throw her pretty ass out.”

* * *

Niol…such a gentleman, huh?

Midnight’s Master

Posted in Romance on September 22nd, 2008 by Cynthia Eden

…or Niol’s story (my bad boy demon from HOTTER AFTER MIDNIGHT)

In July of 09, the third book in my Midnight Trilogy will be published by Kensington Brava. This is the first time I’ve posted the blurb for this book, and I wanted to put it up here as a sneak peek for my blog viewers. So, here’s the blurb for Niol’s story:

In a world of shadows, desire conquers all…

MIDNIGHT’S MASTER

In this sexy, gripping novel, Cynthia Eden draws readers deeper into the realm of the Others—vampires, shifters, and sinfully attractive demons whose powers are matched only by their dark hungers…

Tall, dark, and formidable, Niol Lapen is the last demon on earth most people would ask for a favor, yet the sexy little reporter who wanders into his club dares to do exactly that. Holly Storm already knows too much about his kind, and Niol has no wish to help her get in deeper over her head. But working alongside her may be the only way to stop a killer, even as it ignites a primal desire unlike anything he’s known.

Holly has seen firsthand what Niol is capable of, but that doesn’t frighten her nearly as much as her body’s instinctive reaction to him, or the wild, fierce passion that would tempt her to follow him through hell itself. Something evil and relentless is prowling the streets of Atlanta. And as Holly’s search leads her into danger that even Niol could never have predicted, she’ll uncover a secret that could rip her world apart….
