Weekend Contest Back to Blog

Want to win an autographed copy of MIDNIGHT SINS? Want to get the book long before you can buy it in stores? (Cause the book doesn’t officially release until Nov. 25, but you could win it now…)

Here’s the blurb so you’ll know just what you’re getting:

Cara Maloan doesn’t look like a monster. In fact, the gorgeous blond nightclub singer possesses heavenly attributes that make Atlanta detective Todd Brooks sure there’s a higher power somewhere. But a twisted killer is leaving a trail of bodies in seedy hotel rooms across town. The male victims show no wounds–it’s as if the life was simply drained from them. And right now, mysterious Cara is Todd’s only suspect.

Cara knows it’s foolish to be so drawn to a man who thinks she’s a murderer. She also knows Detective Brooks would find the truth even harder to swallow. Cara is one of the Others, a race of powerful, paranormal creatures who live among humans. Cara’s particular abilities make men putty in her hands–all except this rugged, sexy-as-hell detective. But now someone, or something, has singled Cara out for serious payback…

As uneasy trust gives way to mind-blowing desire, Cara and Todd will go head-to-head with a killer whose mission is deeply personal, and who’s determined to serve up revenge that’s hotter than hellfire, and just as deadly…

Sound like a story you might enjoy? Well, to win this early copy all you have to do is leave me a comment.  And I’ll even make the comment part super easy.   Just tell me your favorite old song.  Come on–that’s really easy.  I’ll be back on Monday to pick one commenter to win.

I’ll share my fav song.  The song that has been running non-stop through my head lately?  Stay by Shakespeare’s Sister.  Here’s the video, one of my all time guilty pleasures.  I love this video.  But, is it wrong that I find myself cheering for the crazy-eyed, glittery chick?

(Quick contest note:  I’ll be cross-posting this contest on MySpace.  I’ll combine the comments from MySpace and my personal blog and pick one winner.)

By the way, more contests will be coming soon–including the “Big” 🙂 one, Sin a Little, that will launch on November 1.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Hey Cynthia! Cool contest.

Wow. Your question is a very hard one because there are SO many old songs I love. Especially from the 80s. But I’ll pick one for today… GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN by Cyndi Lauper because I totally LOVED her when I was a kid. She was quirky, unique, original and she loved the wrestling. 🙂

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Taylor Z says:

  5. Greta says:

You know I really want this book now, I really don’t want to wait:)

Anyway favorite old song. There are a lot of them. Is Living On A Prayer by Bon Jovi old enough.

If not the “Tainted Love” by Soft Cell.

  6. LaDonna says:

Hey Cindy, loved your song! Hmmm, let’s see my favorite song today is New Attitude sung by Patti LaBelle. I swear, it gets me moving every time! lol. The Pointer Sisters brought it out in the 70’s, and I loved it then. Oh yeah, got my Ipod plugged into my ears…off to dance.

  7. Jane says:

    Hi Cynthia,
My favorite is “I Melt With You” by Modern English. I can’t wait to read Todd’s story.

  8. Susan says:

    Hi Cynthia,
My favorite is ‘Night Moves’ by Bob Seger. I’m hooked on classic rock!

  9. Willa says:

True Colors by Cyndi Lauper. It’s currently being used for a T.V. commercial and it brought back lots of memories of the 80’s! Should I be admitting that? Lol!

  10. Cheryl McInnis says:

I just finished Hotter After Midnight, so I’m more than ready for some Midnight Sins, lol.
My favorite “old” song is Under the Bridge by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, I could listen to it over and over for hours, heck, I have listened to it over and over for hours!

  11. Edie says:

Ooh, I like too many songs. I’ll pick “I Feel Lucky” by Mary Chapin Carpenter. Love the lyrics!

  12. Rhonda says:

Madonna’s Material Girl – and I am sooo not, but I just love that song. I think it has more to do with the time of life than the song, lol…

  13. Brandy says:

Okay, before my time, but I like the song anyway “If”. And then there’s “Fever”, the original recording, also before my time. Or there’s “Lollipop” Just because it’s a fun song, again before my time. Or…..maybe you’re getting the idea that I love old music? ‘Cause I do!

  14. Pam P says:

Here’s a real oldie – Mack the Knife by Bobby Darin.

  15. Allison says:

Ahh, this question brings me back… how about Too Cool for Love by Jill Sobule. Now it`s humming away in my head! Fun question Cynthia, thanks.

  16. Karen Haney says:

This is an easy one, Cynthia. I am a huge Billy Joel fan and my son’s first concert when he was about 7 was Billy Joel. He attended several others with me as he grew up. So, of course, my favorite song has some special words and is the one I chose to do the “mother-son dance” with my son when he was married recently. Yeah, a little sappy but Moms do love their sons! The song is “I Love You Just the Way You Are” by Billy Joel! Thanks! Karen

  17. Zoe Winters says:

“Little Red Riding Hood…” bum bum bum bum “…you sure are looking good. You’re everything a big bad wolf could want.”

Our bus driver in high school listened to the oldies station a lot, and I LOVED this song when I heard it. They played it around Halloween. Later this song featured in the movie, Cursed with Christina Ricci.

  18. Barb Patrick says:

Hi Cynthia! One of my favorite songs is Hotel California by The Eagles. If I wanted to show my age, I could also say Precious & Few by Climax, but I won’t ( LOL )! Also as a salute to the Halloween season, I could add Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon! Hope everyone had a good weekend!

  19. Ann M. says:

Old song? I guess songs from when I was in college could count as old. 🙂 Dan Fogelberg – Longer.

  20. My favorite old song would have to be Great Balls of Fire. I just finished reading Hotter After Midnight yesterday and I’m dying to read Midnight Sins.

  21. Lori T says:

My favorite old song would probably be Jessie’s Girl by Rick Springfield. Oh, how I loved this song and I was so excited when it came on the radio…even more amazing to me was that this guy that I thought was beyond gorgeous was actually my Mom’s age…ha-ha.
