Donna Grant Has Some Magic For You… Back to Blog

Update:  Donna’s prize winner (lucky lady!) is…Diane Sallan.  Congrats, Diane! I will send your contact information to Donna.

I’m so pleased to have Donna Grant as my first guest author today. Not only is Donna one fabulous writer, but she’s a very special lady, too. I love her stories–can’t read them fast enough!  Donna, thanks so much for joining me today!

Congratulations to Cynthia on her newest release!  And thanks, Cynthia, for inviting me over to celebrate.  It’s double the fun for me because I also have a release today – Echoes of Magic, the second book in my Sisters of Magic trilogy.

Whereas Cynthia loves the horror stuff, I’ve always been drawn to the historical and the paranormal/fantasy.  You can’t imagine how I rejoiced when Lord of the Rings came to theatres. 🙂

There’s just something about a man who can fight with a sword.  It’s dangerous yes, but also so compelling to me as an author and a reader.  Knights were supposed to be the most chivalrous of men.  The ones who would also be there to help those in need.

So, it was no wonder my heroes in the Sisters of Magic trilogy are none other than knights.  In Echoes of Magic, we have Grayson.  He’s been acting as a commander to his friend and lord, Drogan, but in fact, Grayson is a lord himself.

He’s been hiding from his past, but there comes a point in every man’s life where he has to face that past.  That’s exactly what Grayson does.  He never expects to come face to face with the man responsible for ruining his life, or to find a woman who can heal more than wounds suffered in battle.

Adrianna is part of a dying race of witches.  She knows as soon as she sees Grayon that he’s different, that he’ll change her life forever.  Is she willing to test Fate to discover if she can beat the curse placed on witches?

Grayson and Adrianna must endure many trials, and its only with each other that they can truly face  – and win – them all. 🙂

Here’s the blurb and cover for ECHOES OF MAGIC!

Hiding a secret so awful that his only hope for survival is to remain hidden, Grayson has lived most of his life pretending to be someone he isn’t. After years serving as a commander to his lord and friend, Grayson can no longer hold back the past. He leaves in search of answers only to find evil awaits him. Until he discovers an achingly beautiful woman who stirs his deepest passions and all-consuming need.

Adrianna knows what her future holds for her as a witch – loneliness and heartache. She has accepted that. Until she discovers Grayson near death in the forest. Saving him is her only choice, and even as she falls deeper into the attraction surrounding them, can her magic be enough to stop Fate or the evil that awaits them.

What is your favorite romance genre to read?

I’ll be giving away an ebook copy of SHADOW MAGIC, the first in the Sisters of Magic trilogy to one lucky commenter!

  14. Michelle Bledsoe says:

Donna I read most of the romance genres. I find that right now I am reading more paranormals than anything else. I really like the historical paranormals because they really take you to a different time where people react just a little different than they would in contemporary paranormals. Thanks for being her today and good luck on your new release. See you at your blog:)

  15. Savannah Miller says:

Michelle – thank you! Glad you stopped by. 😉

Suvannah – Anything is possible in paranormals. I think that’s why I love it so much. 🙂

  17. Jeana says:

It’s too hard to choose one genre. it really all depends on the mood i’m in and what book catches my eye first. lately i’ve been reading a lot of paranormal and contemporaries.

  18. Amy R says:

Donna I love the historical genre, specifically Scottish 😀 So you know I have been loving your current series 🙂 My favorite is still been Lucan and Cara’s story. You had my emotions everywhere…

    Have a great day!

  19. Marianne says:

I def am a paranormal romance fan!

  20. Kathy Webb says:

My favorite of course is anything with paranormal. I am not into historical or contemporary.. Give me the “supernatural” LOL I will be reading your books soon!!

  21. Chris Bails says:

It is a tie between historical and paranormal. I go through phases and will read a bunch of paranormal and then a bunch of historical. Right now I am going back and forth between the two genres. I love to read and am willing to try any genre. Donna is a new author for me and would love to win and read this book, so please choose me for the giveaway.
Thanks for the chance to win.

  22. Pamk says:

I love several different genres. I love paranormal romance, urban fantasy, fantasy, scifi, and suspense but in all of them i love to see some element of a romance. This series of your sounds fantastic. Love books about witches and though your books sounds great I have gotten to read one yet. Seriously need to remedy that.

  23. Sarah says:

I love paranormal romance, but I also enjoy historical romance. I’m a sucker for a love story!

  24. Lora Patten says:

I don’t have one specific romance genre I like. I like paranormals, historicals, regencies, contemporaries, and various others. It just happens to be whatever catches my attention when the mood to read hits (which is A LOT). I am not tied to one particular favorite genre.

  25. Tanja H says:

    I’m a paranormal girl.

  26. Viki S. says:

I love paranormal romance. It’s almost all I read – unless I already love the author. Then I read everything :).

  27. Elena L. says:

For me it is a tie between paranormal romance and romantic suspense – which a lot of the time intersect! Humor in my romance comes in a close third as well. Normally it just depends on my mood, but I go through my moods rather quickly sometimes 🙂

  28. Elisa says:

Q: what’s your favorite romance genre?

A: yes. Seriously, though. It depends on my mood, but I love them all! I love the contemporaries, suspenses, classicals, historicals, fantasy/science fiction-esque, and of course, paranormals! I suppose my go-to is PNR but if I couldn’t have the others, my life would be incomplete.

  29. Cynthia Eden says:

Thanks so much for participating in the party, Donna! And congrats on your release!

  30. Yadira A. says:

My favorite genre to read is definitely paranormal romance. Well I should say anything with romance in it, but I just love a bit of the weird thrown in for good measure:)

I think the Sisters of Magic trilogy would fit that bill perfectly… adding it to my wishlist!

  34. Alaina says:

sounds awesome! paranormal romance/urban fantasy are my favs.. occasionally historicals, but theyre rare..sometimes contemporary (or romantic suspense) depending on the author.. the occasional mystery, but even those i like to have a paranormal edge to em..

  35. elaing8 says:

This sounds like a great book.
I have lots of favorites. But I guess at the top is paranormal romance.

  36. StacieD says:

My top three romance genres are paranormal, suspense and erotic. I enjoy many genres but those three take up the most room on my bookshelves.

  37. SharonS says:

Dark Urban Fantasy is my favorite, with a strong romance element of course 😉

  38. CrystalGB says:

My favorite genres to read is paranormal romance and urban fantasy.

  39. ChrisS says:

Although I enjoy a wide variety of Romance genres, my favorite would be Paranormal for all it’s “the sky’s the limit” creative possibilities.

  40. BlackwaterMama says:

I am a paranormal girl! I used to read contemp and historical…but then I discovered paranormal. i can’t get enough of it. There is no limit to the imagination! I saw your series and have added it to my TBR mountain! Can’t wait to read it!

  41. Raonaid Luckwell says:

My favorite genre to read… Well it all depends on my moods and what I need. I read a TON of paranormals. Right now i’m taking a break to read some historicals (gotta get me some druid action sometimes), suspenses and fantasy – big time fantasy nut.

  42. librarypat says:

The first romances I ever read were medieval Highland stories. They are still my favorite. That time period, Highland story or not, is perfect for a good romance story. Throw in a touch of magic and what’s not to like.

  43. Bethie says:

I love all romance stories. But I tend to lean toward historicals and paranormals.

  44. Connie Brand says:
