Have you sinned?

Midnight Sins…available 12/08 from Kensington Brava

Atlanta police detective Todd Brooks is on the hunt for a rare killer–a female serial who leaves her male victims bound, naked, and dead in cheap hotel rooms. The twist: There’s no evidence of wounds on the bodies. It appears as if the life was just literally drained from the victims. Todd realizes the killer has to be Other–one of the many paranormal beings who walk the earth–beings that Todd has only recently discovered. The evidence in the killings soon leads him to the door of Cara Firon, a sexy club singer with secrets lurking in her sky blue eyes.

Todd falls for Cara, hard and fast, as any man would when confronted by a powerful succubus. However, Todd isn’t about to let his lust blind him to Cara’s guilt. He vows to take her, and, if necessary, take her down for the murders. What he doesn’t count on is falling for his chief suspect…

As for Cara, well, she’s not about to let some sick killer set her up for crimes that she hasn’t committed. Cara isn’t like the rest of her kind–she doesn’t want just wild, hot sex (though she does enjoy the sport); she wants love. Forever. The whole happily-ever-after that humans get. The more time she spends with her rugged detective, the more she realizes that she wants forever with him.

Unfortunately, the killer stalking the streets has other plans. If Cara and Todd can’t stop the murderer soon, then Todd may become the next victim…because the killings, they are very personal. And there is nothing like a revenge that is served up hell hot and death cold.

* * *

What you’ve just read isn’t the official back cover copy–I’ll post that a bit later (come on, it’s just January!), but I wanted to give a brief description of my succubus story. 🙂 Hope you enjoyed it!! Now, I’m afraid I must get back to a truly painful task: synopsis writing. Yeck. Not my favorite sport.

Medium–She’s Back!!!

Posted in Romance on January 7th, 2008 by Cynthia Eden

Finally,  finally–Allison Dubois is back. Medium will air again tonight on NBC, and, in case you can’t tell, I’m absolutely thrilled by this news.

I love Allison’s character–I think she is one of the best characters I’ve seen on TV in years. She’s completely normal–she has car pool issues, kid issues, job issues–but she is surrounded by the abnormal (that would be the ghosts she sees, the dreams she has). Normal surrounded by abnormal–a concept I’ve longed loved. I use that concept in my books–particularly in my upcoming Kensington Books. I like to keep a good, normal world as a base in my tales, and then layer it with paranormal events.

So, tonight, I plan to order Chinese, get comfy on couch, and see just what my good friend Allison has going on–I’m sure I won’t be bored.

Happy New Year–and, oh, no, is it really time for resolutions?

Posted in Romance on December 31st, 2007 by Cynthia Eden

Happy New Year!!! (Okay, it’s a little early, but you get the idea.)  Later tonight, I will light the sky with bright bursts of light, or, well, my fireworks will light the sky.

In the meantime, I’m realizing that I haven’t listed my resolutions for 2008 yet. I wanted to post my resolutions here because I thought if I made ’em public, I might be more inclined to keep them. So, here goes:

1. Write 3 novels.

2. Write 2 novellas. (I’d like to aim for three, but I’ll play it safe and say two now.)

3. Buy a cookbook and actually use it.

4. Finish unpacking all of my moving boxes.

5. Take two vacations with the family.

Hmmm…those sound pretty tame, huh? Okay, let me throw in another one:

6. Go ghost-hunting.

I’ll let you know how item six works out later. But…Ashley, Saundra–all I can say is…Get ready, ladies. We’ll be hunting together.

Happy New Year! And, come on, don’t be shy…tell me your resolutions.
