Midnight’s Master

…or Niol’s story (my bad boy demon from HOTTER AFTER MIDNIGHT)

In July of 09, the third book in my Midnight Trilogy will be published by Kensington Brava. This is the first time I’ve posted the blurb for this book, and I wanted to put it up here as a sneak peek for my blog viewers. So, here’s the blurb for Niol’s story:

In a world of shadows, desire conquers all…

MIDNIGHT’S MASTER

In this sexy, gripping novel, Cynthia Eden draws readers deeper into the realm of the Others—vampires, shifters, and sinfully attractive demons whose powers are matched only by their dark hungers…

Tall, dark, and formidable, Niol Lapen is the last demon on earth most people would ask for a favor, yet the sexy little reporter who wanders into his club dares to do exactly that. Holly Storm already knows too much about his kind, and Niol has no wish to help her get in deeper over her head. But working alongside her may be the only way to stop a killer, even as it ignites a primal desire unlike anything he’s known.

Holly has seen firsthand what Niol is capable of, but that doesn’t frighten her nearly as much as her body’s instinctive reaction to him, or the wild, fierce passion that would tempt her to follow him through hell itself. Something evil and relentless is prowling the streets of Atlanta. And as Holly’s search leads her into danger that even Niol could never have predicted, she’ll uncover a secret that could rip her world apart….

So far, so dark…

Posted in Romance on September 21st, 2008 by Cynthia Eden

The first chapter of my new novel is finished. By tomorrow, the second should be done, too. I haven’t plotted out this story yet (I’ll probably do that after I finish the third chapter, when I get a better handle on my characters), but I have to say…the story has already taken a pretty dark turn.

Didn’t quite expect that.

By the end of chapter one, both my hero and my heroine killed someone. (?Something?) I’d rather thought those parts might come later, but, no, there they were. Bam. Hello, darkness, my old friend… See, now that song is going to be in my head for the rest of this book. Sigh.

New Book

Posted in Romance on September 18th, 2008 by Cynthia Eden

I started writing a new book today.  I thought I would do my usual alternate beginnings routine (I generally like to write at least two beginnings for a book to see which one flows the best), but, this time, the first beginning seems to be working for me.  Seems to be is the key point here. I might write more and decide to go back and switch things up a bit–we’ll just see.  🙂  I wrote eleven pages today and I’m now back on my 10-pages-a-day rule.  Ah, I’ve missed writing.

I’m particularly excited about this book because, well, I just love writing paranormal stories around Halloween.  The mood is set for me and I can really get into the story.  It’s easy for certain times of the year to influence my mood.  Right now, I’m in the mood for some serious spookiness and it’s going to show in my writing.  This story is going to be very heavy on the paranormals, I can so feel it.

Anyone else in the Halloween writing mood?
