Happy Friday, everyone!!! I hope that you have an amazing weekend! And, hey, don’t forget, you still have time to enter my MINE TO TAKE contest (gift cards, books, ahoy!).
Today I am absolutely thrilled to have guest author Kaylea Cross at my blog. Kaylea has a hot new romantic suspense book out–one that has been getting some great buzz–and I can’t wait to read IGNITED! Welcome to the blog, Kaylea!
Titanium Security Series is Here!
A big thank you to Cynthia for hosting me here again today! I’m thrilled to announce the launch of a new romantic suspense series with the release of book one, Ignited.
I’m often inspired by things I see on the news, and the start of my new Titanium Security Series was no different. You might remember hearing the story about a Pakistani girl named Malala Yousafzai, who was shot in the head by a Taliban gunman for promoting girls’ education in the highly contested tribal region and the Swat Valley. Thankfully, she not only survived, but her story triggered immediate outrage around the globe. And, I’m happy to report that she’s publishing a book about her life later this year, reportedly for around three million dollars. I love the poetic justice of that, because her story lit a fire inside of me.
You see, in addition to being an author, I’m also a Board and Committee member of a scholarship program that provides undergraduate degrees for underprivileged high school graduates. Most of our students have endured terrible things in their lives and yet somehow found the strength to persevere and overcome any adversity thrown at them. Just like Malala. Her story touched me and I knew I had to write something about the issues at hand. Hence, Ignited and the rest of the series was born.
Blurb: When her father is murdered by a Taliban cell in the tribal regions of Pakistan, Khalia Patterson reluctantly steps into his shoes to carry on the legacy of Fair Start Foundation, a non-profit group dedicated to furthering the education of girls. There she meets Hunter Phillips, the ex-SEAL and head of her Titanium security team, and quickly learns that coming to Pakistan might prove to be a deadly decision.
Battling demons of his own, Hunter grudgingly leads Khalia’s protective detail as a favor to his boss. From their first meeting it’s clear she’s going to be trouble, and that the cell that killed her father is hell bent on taking her out as well. Keeping her alive is one of the toughest assignments he’s ever faced, yet through one harrowing situation after another she continually impresses him with her strength and inner courage. Even though he fights his feelings for her, it’s a losing battle. And when the job is over, he doesn’t know how he’ll let her go.

It’s available now for $2.99 at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Kobo.
I’m giving away a digital copy of Ignited (or winner’s choice of my backlist) to a commenter here on the blog, contest ending Saturday at 5 pm EST.
Any questions for me? Would love to chat with you about the new book and series.
Update: Do you know what’s better than one giveaway? How about two? In addition to the digital copy of IGNITED, commenters are also going to be entered into a contest to win a $10 Amazon.com gift card. Good luck!!
Happy reading,

I love a good romantic suspense ….even if my first love is paranormal
Hi Jackie! Thanks for coming by.
Amazing! I love this story already and really loved to hear about your work with the scholarship program for underpriveleged high school students – WAY cool!
Thanks! The work with the scholarship foundation is very rewarding.
I love military romances and romantic suspense. This one sounds really good and I am putting it on my TBR! Thanks for the give-away!
Thanks Zita! Hope you enjoy it.
Wow this sounds like an awesome book and needs to be added to my TBR pile. Thanks for the giveaway!!
It’s very intense and action based so if you like that sort of book then Ignited might be up your alley!
I love all kinds of romance books. I especially like ones with a happy ending. Thanks for all that you do!
Oh yes, a happy ending is a must!
Love romantic suspense and a military man to boot???
Congratulations on the great work you are doing, there are so many kids out there who need our help.
How many books are you thinking of for this new series?
Thank you, Diane! It feels good to help make a difference. Right now I’m planning four books in this series.
Sounds like a great book!
I love your work with the underprivileged students. Must be so fulfilling!
May, we hope we’re making a difference! Education is the key.
Hi Kaylea!
Congrats on your newest release! I know I am going to love it, love your other military romances 🙂
Besides this series, did you have any other projects that you are working on?
Hey, Michelle! Aside from this series the final book of the Bagram Special Ops series is coming out September 16th.
Wow.. this looks hot.. and so excited to read… I love your work I hope the series does super for you. Thank you for the opportunity and I can’t wait to read and review this.
Thanks Valerie! This one is both steamy and intense :).
Sounds like a great story line. Bringing a little of the real world into book land! Good luck on your new series! Can’t wait to read.
I love your title! LOL
Thank you very much.
Started reading your books after I watched the newTV series about the Pararescue members. I’m so glad I found your books!
Yeah for the PJs!!! They’re so much more awesome than what the show portrayed. Hope my books shine more light on what they do!
I love romantic suspense! It’s always fun trying to guess the “who did it?” and I usually guess wrong but it’s so exciting to read!
If you get it wrong it just means the author did a good job! *g*
Sounds like a great book!
Thanks Amber!
I love books that grab hold of me and don’t let go, even after I finish reading. This book sounds so great! Thanks for the giveaway! Did you always want to write? How did you get started writing?
I always wanted to write! Ever since I learned to read. I started pursuing it seriously when I was pregnant with my first child. I blame it on hormones :).
This sounds fantastic! Your scholarship program work is quite inspiring. Thanks for the giveaway.
Thank you, ma’m :). Hope you like it!
I havent read this book but it sounds really good 🙂 adding it to my TBR
Hi Carly! Hope you fall in love with the hero, Hunter.
Wow! What an great story line. I’ll have to add “Ignited” to my TBR pile.
It sounds very intreguing.
Thanks Julie. This one is very fast paced.
Have read 2 of your books The Vacant Chair and Deadly Descent. Loved them both! My first choice genre is romantic suspense and military – even better! Was so excited to find your books!! Have both Tactical Strike and Ignited all downloaded and ready to read! Thanks for some really awesome stories! Oh and Kaylea, if you could possible do an early release of Lethal Pursuit, that would be great!
Thank you so much! The sept release of Lethal Pursuit is actually my fault. I asked for a six month gap between manuscript due dates b/c I was worried about not delivering on time…abd wound up writing Maya and Jackson’s book in three months. Gah!
I love romantic suspense and am always so happy to find new to me authors!! 🙂
Hi Sue! Thanks for coming by :).
This book sounds great. This should be a great series. I have added it to my TBR. Thanks for the giveaway.
Eva, thanks. I’m just revising book two now.
Congrats, Kaylea! You know I love all your books and can’t wait to start reading Ignited. It keeps calling my name from my Nook. You put so much passion into your books and they really show that. I am sure this series will be no different. Congrats! 🙂
Thanks Amy! This one is very intense, lots of suspense. The next two books will be a bit slower paced and more focused on the romance. Just finishing up Gage’s story now. Can’t wait for you to meet him!
Sounds intriguing. How many books will be in this series?
Thanks! There will be four books at least in the series, each focusing on one of my security contractor heroes.
Sounds like another great read from you Kaylea! Thanks for the chance to win! 😀 Happy Summer!
Colleen, thank you! I’m very excited about this new series.
I love romantic suspense and Ignited sounds like a great read
Thanks, Kristine. I love r/s too. (Not that I’m biased or anything.)
Congrats on the release and good reviews. I am a fan of a good romantic suspense book, so I would love to read it. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!!
Hi, Barb! Hope you enjoy it if you decide to give it a read.
Hi Kaylea, do you have any plans to write any stories outside of the romantic suspense genre, say maybe a paranornal or contemporary book?
Hi Timitra. I have one paranormal romance (Darkest Caress) that readers keep asking me to finish the series for, and I just had an historical romance (The Vacant Chair) release last month.
I’m always always always on the hunt for new romantic suspense books. Ignited sounds like it just my type and so does Hunter. Keep doing what you do and the world will be a better place. I’m definitely going to be reading Ignited and Singed as soon as it comes out.
Audrey, thanks so much! I’m just finishing up book 2 now and am brainstorming for book 3. Each of my heroes has a different military background and in every book I write I try to showcase some of the things I’ve learned from my research. It’s important to me to try to get it right.
Read IGNITED when I was technically supposed to be preparing for my doctoral dissertation defence but couldn’t handle another science paper or run-through of my talk, and absolutely LOVED it! Hunter is possibly my favourite hero of the moment, though Gage might surpass him when his book comes out :P. Also love the Bagram Special Ops series and can’t wait for September because Maya kicks major arse!
Oh, and despite (or perhaps because of?) my sneaking in some non-science reading, passed my defence with flying colours and am now settling in to catch up on Kaylea’s backlist because I actually home spare time 🙂
Cris, MAJOR CONGRATS on passing your defense!!! How awesome is that?! (Do I have to call you Dr. Cris now? Cuz I totally will.)
Hee, I love Hunter too, but in each series I have a favorite hero and in this case it’s Gage. I cannot wait for everyone to read his story! But first I’ve gotta edit the darn thing.
Jackson’s book will be out before we know it. He’s my favorite of the Bagram Special Ops series and his story is by far the most emotional and wrenching.
I’m so glad Ignited could give you a break and take you away from your hard work for a while. Hope you’re doing something awesome to celebrate!
You most definitely have to refer to me as Dr. Cris now. I’m going to start using that to make restaurant reservations and the like, haha. Especially since I want nothing to do with research science any more for at least a good long while and will definitely not be using said doctorate for its intended purpose [i.e. academic research science]. Sounding fancy when dining out or boarding a plane will be a most excellent use of that science PhD… I endured 6 years of blood, sweat, & tears just so I could do that :P.
Oh, Jackson… stoked to learn his story! Can we just fast-forward to September??
Love that you are part of the scholarship program! I am a soon to be sophomore undergraduate student and know that any little bit helps! Can’t wait to read your book!
-Taylor Z
Taylor, thanks! And best of luck at school. Sometimes it just feels good to know you’ve got people behind you, right?
It sounds great. I would love to read it. It is so sad that girls and young women in many parts of the world and in particular that region f ace such educational restrictions.
Catherine, yes, we’re very lucky over here to enjoy such freedoms.
I loved ignited i enjoyed hunter and Khalia but i get the feeling gage is going to be my favorite. Im curious as to how you decided on Khalia as a name its not one that ive heard before and i have to say its a lovely name.
Gage is my favorite too!!! Glad I’m not the only one :).
I chose Khalia because it’s an Arabic name. I meant to mention it in the book but her parents had met in Dubai and chose to name their first child with an Arabic name.
Congrats on the new release. I’ll be honest, I have not read any of your books but looking at the book list after reading this post and i just put them on my TBR pile. 🙂
Patty, that’s so great, thank you! Hope you enjoy them.
You are a new author to me but I love military romances and your book sounds fantastic!
I love military romance too. I love seeing those big bad alpha males fall hard for that one special woman.
Another book I must add to my ever growing TBB list!
This is a must have book, thanks Kaylea!
