Vampires, Monsters & Shapeshifters, oh my!–Allie Harrison Back to Blog

I love how vampires, monsters, & shapeshifters are getting such great reviews these days!  Because I absolutely love to write them.  I love how I can make my vampires be any way I want from adapting to sunlight, not not needing blood–but other things–to survive, to experiencing love and desire, which is what I did in my latest work, NO FEAR, which is now available through ImaJinn Books.  I hope everyone likes my Chief of Police James Winchester as much as I did.

Another great thing is that the love for vampires is really making the rounds everywhere, too.  This past Friday night, I was working a church fish fry when someone commented, “Hey, did you guys all know Allie’s vampire book is out and it’s great.  I read it in 3 days!” (which made me feel really great).  But the conversation soon turned to vampires, moving from, “I read the latest Sukie Stackhouse book and loved that, too!”  And, “I love the HBO series!”  Then, “I still miss that New Moon show that used to be on Fridays.”  The point is, vampires are out there and fans are loving them.  And I’m right in there with all the other fans, continuing to write vampires and monsters everyone can love.  I’m just glad I finally managed to get my SyFy channel back!

Hello and welcome. I love all the vampires are much differant than years ago. They can fall in love or have emotions. Makes them seem more real. Brings you into the story more. I like when they are also funny sometimes.

What’s really great about this is that so many of the vampire books are romances. So maybe these readers seduced into the vampire culture by Sookie and the others will expand into other subgenres. Next were-creatures. After that maybe even just people romances. It’s all good!

  7. Pamk says:

Hi everyone! Thank you to everyone who replied. And you’re welcome. Thank you for allowing me to share. I am so glad to see so many people LOVE vampires! No, I’m not in Twitter–YET. Hope to be soon. Are the DVD’s in German a little funny? I only ask because years ago I was forced to watch the Lone Ranger in German and thought it was very funny how Tonto put up his hand and said, “Wie gates!” for “How?” I think I spelled gates wrong, so I’m sorry, and hope I didn’t offend anyone. It’s been a long time since I had to write in German when I studied it. I hope everyone enjoys James and Emma. I certainly enjoyed writing them. Coming soon also from ImaJinn Books is HIDE & SEEK!

Just to let everyone know–anyone who wishes to purchase my book NO FEAR can get it ordering through Barnes & Noble at the store, B&N.com, Target.com, Amazon.com or directly from ImaJinnBooks.com. I know there was some confusion in the past. It is NOT available at Borders. Thank you.

I really enjoy all the paranormal creatures for the exact reasons you listed, Allie. Each author puts their own spin on the creatures and it makes them that much more interesting.

…and the new Vampire Diaries’ series that’s on the CW. I had to laugh, my 26-year-old daughter told me she used to read them when she was in Jr High. I feel so old.
