Ready for some FATAL CONSEQUENCES? Back to Blog

Update: The winner of the PDF copies of FATAL AFFAIR, FATAL JUSTICE, and FATAL CONSEQUENCES is…Leagh Christensen! Congrats, Leagh!

I hope that you’re enjoying the blog party so far!  We’re spotlighting lots of books–and there are LOTS more giveaways to come.  One of my favorite things to do during the summer is to sit down and enjoy a good book. (It’s too hot down in the South to do much else!) Whether I’m reading on the beach, on a hammock, or  on the couch,  a good book can certainly take me away.  Books have always been the perfect escape for me. Come on…don’t we all need an escape sometimes?

Lately, I’ve really enjoying escaping into my friend Marie Force‘s books.  Marie writes some fabulous tales–I love the suspense elements in her books.  Marie’s next release, FATAL CONSEQUENCES, will be available July 18th.

Blurb:

The murder of two members of the Capitol Cleaning Service might’ve been just another homicide investigation—that is If one of them hadn’t been romantically involved with a married senator from Arizona. Lt. Sam Holland and her team are plunged into another complex case that at first seems open and shut. But as Sam tugs on the threads of the investigation she uncovers a deep, dark Washington secret that threatens the careers of some of the government’s highest-ranking officials. Racing to catch a killer before he can strike again, Sam and her fiancé, U.S. Senator Nick Cappuano, attempt to plan a wedding while her colleague Detective Tommy “Gonzo” Gonzales faces life-changing news.

Marie’s books consistently blast their way to the top of the Kindle bestseller lists–cause she’s awesome like that. 🙂 Today, Marie is offering PDF copies of all three of her FATAL books to one winner (that’s FATAL AFFAIR, FATAL JUSTICE, and FATAL CONSEQUENCES).  If you’re looking for good romantic suspenses to take you away this summer, you want these.  So…to win, tell me why you enjoy suspense in your summer stories.  The winner will be randomly selected tomorrow at noon. Good luck!

I enjoy suspense in my summer stories because it makes time fly. I live in Vegas and it can get to like 115+ here and I don’t like the heat. I’m always looking for a great suspense to make my days go by!

  2. Michelle Bledsoe says:

Suspense in stories just keep your blood pumping. I try not to figure the answers out because I like to be surprised. Suspense gives a book more depth to the enjoyment of reading. For myself I am an equal opportunity reader. I will read just about any type of romance once.,,lol

  3. Suspense always heightens my senses when I read. I love twists and turns that are unexpected. Especially when I think I’ve figured out the answers and another twist or turn at the end is totally unexpected.

  4. Brenda Hyde says:

Suspense stories are perfect for summer when we’re lazing around at the beach or park and need a read that keeps me guessing:)

  5. Jennifer D. says:

I actually like romantic suspense stories anytime of year, but the summer is a good time to read them because there is nothing like reading a book on my porch and enjoying the warm breeze. I get lost in the action and the plot twists and can’t wait to find out what happens next.

  6. Colleen says:

I enjoy suspense… wanting to figure out who is doing what and why… love when a book has you continuously guessing till the end.

I love them because they are exciting! I have heard great things about Marie Force but I haven’t had a chance to read them yet! 🙂

  8. Suzanne says:

I love it when I can’t put books down. I have to keep reading so I can find out what will happen. That’s great for summer days when it’s too hot to go outside.

What a fun blog party. I absolutely LOVE the covers for Marie’s Fatal covers. I enjoy suspense all year round, but in the Summer it would be because I can keep on reading with longer days. With the hot sun and the cool nights, instead of lazing away, I’m actually thrust into a world of fast-paced, non-stop action. No calm breezy trees for me, I’m too busy trying to stay a step away from the bad guys.

  13. minhchieu tran says:

I love reading suspense because it keeps me riveted to the story, those are the books I can’t put down. They keep me guessing with the ups and downs of the story. The danger and unknown. Love the covers for Marie’s books.

  16. Viki says:

I find reading suspense books during the summer a great way to get through a lazy day. The action w/in makes it so easy to just say heck with it and go sit on the deck and read while the guys are golfing :). Thank you.

  17. desiree says:

I like to be on the edge of my seat it is better than watching a suspense movie sometimes.

It really adds an element of surprise to the story. Making it a bit more exciting.

  19. StacieDM says:

I love suspense stories. I always have. I enjoy danger and mystery with my romance. I think having the hero or heroine threatened by some unknown villian heightens the emotion of the story. The romance usually progresses more quickly because they realize they may not have much time together.

  20. Marjana says:

Suspense are good not only for summer but every sense. They are just really great!

  21. leisa prater says:

I have not read any of these yet and they sound so good. I am gonna have to add them to my TBR list.

  23. Michelle McMichael says:

I prefer something not so light and fluffy during the summer. After spending my days at home with 3 kids, I need a good story that will draw me in and keep my attention right to the end 🙂

  24. Danielle West says:

My summers are always so boring and I NEED the heartpumping suspense! I also love the hea at the end so that I am not still stressing about the characters after the book ends. I love stressing about fictional characters and not people in my life for a change 🙂

  25. Teresa Warner says:

This would be a new author for me!

  26. Kathy Webb says:

I love suspense in the summer because it takes my mind off the heat and puts it elsewhere tring to figure out who or what…I LOVE suspense any time really!!

  27. Annie says:

Whether reading romantic suspense, or just having suspense as a subplot in a story, I love it to bits! I think it adds a whole new dimension to a good story. It keeps the blood pumping when you’re relaxing on a summer day and not to mention, gives you that little thrill of a ride as you read. Love it, love it, love it!

  28. Minna says:

I like suspense because there is always something unexpected.

  29. Julia - Yen says:

I love the suspense in the summer because it bring heat and excitement to boil me with good romance thrown in — *phew* I think I want to head to the beach now 😉

  30. Hilleary Peterson says:

A good suspence draws you in so tight that you can forget who and where you are. It is such a good escape.

  31. JenM says:

Summer is all about lazy days, so sometimes it’s good to get an adrenaline jolt just to mix it up. I love this series. I can’t wait to read Fatal Consequences.

  32. Cris says:

I love the Fatal series! Romantic suspense is definitely my favourite genre (all year round)… I’m absolutely a RS bookwhore :-). I grew up on Agatha Christie and other mystery novels, so I love some intrigue in my reading material. Contemporary romances are all warm and fuzzy and happy (which I also like), but often nothings happens by way of plot. Suspense adds an extra something to any story. And I’m a postgrad student– I spend my day transferring very small volumes of clear liquids from one tube to another in lab; I need some excitement in my life 😛

  33. I like reading suspense during the summer because it’s thrilling and action packed – unlike me (poor with no vacation plans).

  34. Gabrielle J. says:

I’ve only read like two maybe three books I think that have had some suspense in them and they were both pretty good!

If the book is really good I often reasonably attached to the characters so if something bad happens to them I find myself hoping that they come out of it ok.

Like I said I don’t read romantic suspense novels very often but when I do the main reason I like to read them is because I find that sometimes my emotions are at their strongest when I read suspense novels.

I also think that suspense novels sometimes test my ability to figure things out, like if there’s a bit of mystery in the book it sort of strengthens my problem solving abilities and the books also help me to think more.

  35. Joder says:

I enjoy the heart pounding action and the roller coaster feel of the storyline. If I can’t get to an exotic location for a summer getaway, I’ll at least read about those interesting places in suspense novels.

  36. Cynthia Eden says:

My ebook reader is currently loaded down with romantic suspense. I like to read ’em late at night–and scare myself. 🙂 Is that weird? Maybe.

  37. Marie Force says:

    Hi there,
Just popping in to say thanks for all the interest in my giveaway and HAPPY HAPPY release day to my friend, Cynthia!!
    Marie

  38. Lisa B says:

I love romantic suspense! It’s my favorite genre right now but i have never read any books by marie Force yet so i’d love the chance to read these. Anyway i’m still going to check out these books more.

  39. Chelsea B. says:

I like to guess who the baddie is 🙂

  40. Anne says:

I love suspense, with and without romance, all year long. I like the action and there’s usually some mystery too.

  41. Kara T. says:

I love romantic suspense…it puts a great twist on the romance in the story. I love to imagine myself as the heroine being protected by the hunky bodyguard/Special Forces/Officer, etc. To me, the signs of a great suspense story is one that keeps me turning the pages without wanting to put the book down, keeps me on the edge of my seat, and an outcome I hadn’t predicted.

    Marie Force books are fantastic!!

  42. Diane Sadler says:

I read and enjoy romantic suspense all year long; I seem to go through phases in general, read a paranormal then a romance then a suspense to fantasy then back to…

  43. Fedora says:

It makes for great summer reading–a little chill when the weather’s hot 😉 Thanks for the terrific intro to Marie’s Fatal series!

  44. Blackwater Mama says:

I love suspense stories because they are like life. You don’t know what comes next!

  45. Jane says:

I love the danger, suspense and mystery in these stories and trying to figure out who the villain is.

  46. Madeline says:

I love suspense stories, you can’t put them down! Sometimes i’ll stay up way to late having to finish a book. And with my Kindle, I can read anywhere!

  47. Harriet says:

I love a bit of suspense in my summer in order to keep things fresh and because I love working out the mystery of it all.

  48. elaing8 says:

I’m not much of a romantic suspense reader but I like the books that are page turners and can’t put down until I find out what happens next.

  49. Connie T says:

    I love romantic suspense!

  50. Kathy Ivan says:

I love Romantic Suspense, both to read and to write. I love figuring out not only whodunit but also why they did it. Throw in a good romance, and I’m hooked.
