Let’s talk books! Back to Blog
I just finished reading a great book, Gena Showalter‘s THE DARKEST WHISPER. I loved this book. It was one of those stories that kept me up until 1 a.m. (Well, I don’t usually get a chance to read until 10 p.m. and once I started, I didn’t want to stop!). I haven’t read the other Lords of the Underworld books yet, but you can bet that as soon as I meet my writing goals, I will.
Now this makes me wonder…what other great books have I missed out on? Sometimes I get so into the writing that I miss some awesome books. Please let me know what I’ve been missing!

I’m guessing you read Obsidian Prey by Jayne Castle. Excellent! That kept me up. Also out this month that I think you read is The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker by Leanna Renee Hieber. I LOVED it. Lastly is one you haven’t read because it’s not sold yet, but should be. A paranormal by my CP, Liz Kreger. It’s an older one. She was thinking of changing the ending. I re-read it, and loved it more than ever. She needs to send it out and find a home for it.
You will love that series, Lords of the Underworld, Cynthia! Gena didn’t disappoint with her newest one DARKEST WHISPER 😀 The books Edie mentioned are great too! I just stumbled onto a series by Pamela Palmer called the Feral Warriors, OMG!!! The first book DESIRE UNTAMED was that book that will keep you up till 1am 🙂 She has 3 out so far, highly recommend this series. Hey maybe she will stop by during your month of monsters cause she has some dark ones in her books 😀
Have a great weekend!!!!
I’ve recently read Obsidian Prey and loved it. Those dust bunnies steal the show, every time. *G* I also read My Favorite Witch by Lisa Plumley. From what I understand it’s her first paranormal and it was cute. Um, if you like YA’s My Soul To Take by Rachel Vincent was AWESOME and I can’t wait for the next book in the Soul Screamers series, due out in January of next year. And I’m looking forward to reading Soulless by Gail Carringer. It’s sort of a steampunk book and will be my first dip into that genre.
All of Gena Showalter’s books are fantastic! You can never go wrong reading her work 🙂
And I really enjoy Kerrelyn Sparks books and Cindy Miles!
just finished Heat Seeker by Lora Leigh the ending rocked. Am now reading Hot for the Holidays – very nice cover. I just picked up Covet by JR Ward and can’t wait to get started on it.
There are not a lot of books that I’ll stay up just to finish but JR Ward, Kresley Cole, Nalini Singh and Lora Leigh definitely keep me wanting to know what’s going to happen next.
I definitely agree about the books by Kresley Cole and Nalini Singh. Those are some awesome stories and wonderful characters. Definite keepers.
Also try C.L. Wilson. Marjorie M. Liu’s The Fire King was good recent read. And Eloisa James’ A Duke of Her Own (a historical) had a wonderful notorious hero.
omg. you will love the rest of the LOTU books! and kresley cole has a 7 book series (well, 8 with the one that was just done with gena showalter) called the Immortals After Dark that will knock your socks off. she is so funny and witty but still dark and brooding a little too. please check them out, starting with book 6 (i believe that it is definitely the best and funniest) called Dark Desires After Dusk. 🙂
