Let’s Get Naughty…Well, kind of…(Christmas In July Giveaway!) Back to Blog

Update: The ARC winner is…Joder! Congrats, Joder!

Okay, it’s that time again–time for another Christmas in July giveaway!! Want to win an ARC of my holiday anthology, THE NAUGHTY LIST?

Here’s the blurb for my story, “All I Want For Christmas”:

Good girl toy inventor Christie takes a walk on the naughty side when she sparks a no-strings fling with Santa—actually, sexy cop Jonas in a Santa suit. She loves her new “bad girl” persona, except as the holidays approach, she starts falling, and hard, for this known’ “love ’em and leave ’em” ladies man…

***

And in case you were wondering…there are no vampires, no demons, and not even any serial killers in this story. I know–it was a change for me.  🙂 But even I can feel the holiday perkiness sometimes!

So if you would like to win an ARC, just tell me how you’re staying cool this summer. See that snowman on the cover? He’s cool.  I stay cool by dipping into the kiddie pool with my son.  What’s your secret?

My secret for staying cool? Trying to move as little as possible. 😛 (Sad, but true.) Otherwise, hitting places that always have arctic AC, like the library – or maybe the movie or malls.

  2. t.r. says:

My secret is if my AC starts acting likes it’s
having a heat stroke, I point the fan at the
recycle vent and make it work. Shh….

  3. Viki says:

I’m staying cool by having the air on while reading and enjoying margarhitas ;).

  4. Casey says:

I stay cool by going swimming! It always works =)

  5. The air conditioner and icy drinks.

  6. azteclady says:

I’m not staying cool this summer, I’m very sad to say–you know it’s BAD over here in steam sauna land (aka Florida) when your house feels cool at 80 degrees Fahrenheit!

  7. Taylor Z says:

I stay coooll but eating Rita’s Italian Ice…green apple gelati or swedish fish! yumm!!

  8. Babs says:

We’re enjoying Flavor Ices…plus the sprinkler and slip ‘n slide! When it gets bad we go down to the basement. Luckily we live close to mountains so it cools off at night.

  9. KathyP says:

The only way to stay cool in FL during the summertime is going shopping at an indoor mall where they keep the thermostat below 80 degrees 😉 .

  10. Michele says:

Been staying cool by playing by the poolside. But lately that hasn’t been working and have been staying indoors which gives me more time to relax and catch up on my reading 🙂

  11. to stay cool, i just blast the fan or take a semi-cold shower 🙂

  12. Lindsay says:

staying the pool. all summer long

  13. Sadly I’m not staying cool. I put off a lot of yard work in the spring and now I’m doing it in mid-July…in FL. I’m kicking myself for waiting!! Afterwards I take a cool shower and blast the A/C!

  14. Judy Cox says:

I stay in the house mostly during the hottest part of the day. I read, clean, drink plenty of cool drinks!! I love lemonade, it refreshes me the most. I do outside chores early in the morning or late in the evening. It has been really hot here in the South so far. I can’t imagine what August & September will be like, hope no hurricanes!!

  15. Stephanie G says:

I hate the heat. The best part about summers for me are the nights. I prefer night time so being able to go out at night in just jeans and a t shirt is great. I stay cool by sticking close to my AC. I know not very creative but it works!

  16. Nancy Gilliland says:

During the week, EDJ has killer A/C, so lately I don’t mind being there-it is the actual work I hate. No A/C at home, and St. Louis summers are the worst, so I change into the minimum amount of clothing, have two fans aimed at my bed, and I just veg with a cold bottle of water and my laptop-I let the boys do the cooking and cleaning.

  17. Barbara Elness says:

I stay cool turning on some of the fans in the house along with the A/C, swimming in the pool, drinking a nice cool flavored water and reading about places with snow.

  18. Ilona says:

I’m staying cool by sitting quietly crocheting or reading in front of a nice big fan. Oh, and the ice creams and ice pops help too 😀

  19. Larena Wirum says:

staying inside with lots of A/C going. 🙂 or having it going in the car. 🙂

  20. Joder says:

I’ve been hanging out by the pool, eating lots of ice cream, and drinking lots of lemonade. It’s hard work, but somebody has to do it.

  21. cories says:

The beach is always good as it’s generally cool and foggy this time of year. And even if it’s sunny and warm, the water is always very cold. Other than that, there’s the pool and the air conditioned places: the library, the movies, the mall, my car…

  22. Colleen says:

I stay cool in the AC with a pile of great books!!! Love reading holiday books in the summer!!!

  23. Blanche says:

Well (knock on wood) we’ve been unusually cool so far this summer! It’s been June Gloom here in July! We are warming up a little but so far I’ve not turned the AC on!!

  24. Nikki B says:

There is a indoor pool at one of my jobs….Im welcome to take a dip anytime I need to! And I eat a lot of popsicles 🙂

  25. Robin K says:

I stay cool in my air conditioning, drinking ice water and wearing as little as possible *winks*

  26. Heather S says:

Sitting in the comfort of the AC, catching up on my TBR pile and old episodes of NCIS and now new episodes of Eureka.

  27. Tina says:

Ac running right next to me! that is my secret ohh and going out side to jump in the lake too helps

  28. Edie Ramer says:

I could use the snowman now. It was lovely this morning, but now I’m thinking of turning on the AC. I hate to close the windows, though. My cat hates it more.

  29. Sherry Gloag says:

Using the heat to chill out in front of the fan while catching up on overdue crits and book reviews, plus attacking my tbr pile.
Sadly I have just been banned from eating icecream (boohoo)

  30. Jane says:

I stay cool by sticking my head in the freezer for a few seconds and drinking lots of water.

  31. blodeuedd says:

Well I have this thing that I can spray water on flowers, hm, perhaps it’s meant for when I am ironing 😉 Sp I spray it on myself

  32. Sherry says:

airconditioning all the way- even when I ride with the top down on my car, the a/c is cranked up! AND, I’m naturally cool anyway.

  33. Heidi says:

Well, I lay in my hammock with a book. I usually ran an extension cord out, so I can have fan out to the patio. Usually works on the 80+ days.

  34. Darlene says:

Having a hard time staying cool physically with the heat and humidity, but I have increased my coolness factor with my teen friends by now being able to text, and take pictures with my phone.

  35. marniecolette says:

Thats a hard one. I have been trying to stay cool by eating lots of blueberry juice bars and stealing the spot in front of the AC!

  36. sue brandes says:

I am staying cool with my AC. And my onlines friends and authors. And of course a lot of books.

  37. I love drinking water with lemon/lime juice (not lemonade – don’t add any sugar). It’s really refreshing and keeps my body temp down.

  38. Diane Sadler says:

I’m staying in the house with the nice air conditioning on. Drinking lots of cold ice tea and eating fruits. Not even bothering to worry about the dust collecting on the furniture, it isn’t going anywhere.

  39. Gabrielle J. says:

It’s a lot harder to cool this summer than it has been in the past. My secret? Making sure I’m always in a room where there’s fan running, not the cheapest way but for now the best!

  40. Lisa Freeman says:

Staying inside and reading! We also go to the lake alot! The lake water is even too hot – in the middle of the day the thermometer hanging on the dock registers 92 degrees. We drink sweet tea and koolaid, leave the ceiling fans on 24/7, and turn off all lights that are not necessary.

  41. Wendi says:

I stay cool by eating Rasberry Sorbet!!! Pints of it 🙂

  42. Donna S says:

A/C with a good book and an occasional Popsicle.

  43. Jacki C says:

We live in the Seattle area, where it usually doesn’t get too hot. But, knowing that it was going to be in the 90’s sent me to a store to buy my first “Swamp Cooler”. It has worked beautifully upstairs where the bedrooms are. But, it still rankles me that I had to buy it – this is Seattle; we aren’t supposed to get over maybe 80 degrees!!!
And, in the morning I pull in all the cool air i can before I shut the house up, and read. I just got “I’ll Be Slaying You” and I’ll probably be up all night finishing it!

  44. LSUReader says:

I’ve just returned from a week+ vacation in Scotland–very cool, in more ways than the temperature! I love holiday anthologies; thanks for the contest.

  45. Terry Forester says:

We’re staying cool by staying in the ac when it’s super hot 95+ degrees. at 94 or below we will go to my sisters and swim…LOL.

  46. Chelsea B. says:

I try not to go out side and keep the air INSIDE way down! LOL!

  47. […] Eden is giving away a copy of her upcoming anthology The Naughty List.  Contest ends […]

  48. Fedora says:

    Popsicles 🙂

  49. Tracey D says:

I’ll be staying inside, working, all summer. I won’t have a summer vacation this year due to work!

SIGHS…At least I’ll be cool! LOL

  50. Swimming! Lots and Lots of swimming! Oh! An Lots of ice cream too!
