Catch-up and the next story… Back to Blog

Happy Friday!  Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Two days ago, I got the urge to transform our storage room into my new office.  Several hours of painting and cursing later, I’m wondering why I had that urge.  But I do have an office now. Well, *almost*.  I should be finished with the bookshelves today or tomorrow. So–this explanation is my excuse for not blogging sooner. I fell into the land of paint!  🙂
I’ve gotten the all-clear from my editor for a new story idea–yay!!  This one will be a paranormal, and it will focus on a new Other character for me. An angel. Or rather, the Angel of Death. To be more specific–what happens when the Angel of Death falls?  Ah, fallen angels can be tempting.  (He’ll have lovely black wings that get burned away when he falls.) So I’m researching angels now and will begin the story later today.  I love the thrill I get when I start a new story.
Oh, and did I mention that the heroine is a vampire?  Cause she is–or she will be, by the time I’m finished with her.
And speaking of angels, a new angel film opens today.  LEGION will hit theaters around the county.  When I first saw the preview for this movie, I was super excited.  And I still think the movie will be great. But, sadly, I may not see it.  Everyone has their hot buttons that turn them off books or movies, and for me–my button is something bad happening to kids.  Gah! I can’t take it.  Give me a Jaxon X slasher flick anytime. But don’t give me creepy kids or something bad happening to *normal* kids.  I saw a preview of LEGION last night that featured kids who seemed to be possessed.  So, yep, that now means I’m hesitating on seeing the flick.
If someone else sees it,will you please let me know how bad those scenes are?
And since I shared my hot-button with you…tell me yours. What can you not stand to read about in a book or see in a movie?

Yay, I’m glad to hear that you’re not giving up on the paranormal stories just yet 😉 This one sounds very interesting, can’t wait!

My hot-button issue is cheating spouses, not so much in movies but if a “romance” novel has a cheater in it, then I usually won’t bother to continue reading. It completely spoils the story for me~

Ooh yes – cheating spouses are OUT!

Also hate films that have cute dog (or any other animal)in them – cos I just *know* that somewhere along the way the dog is doomed.

Authors that post on their blogs in tiny, minute writing that would challenge a fighter pilot! *whistling innocently* *blink* 😉

And yes . . . you can say commenters that use IE6/7/8 ! Lol! 😀

Hmmmm I can’t take horror–gore for the sake of gore and being scared for the sake of being scared. A good thriller has to give me a sense of safety and peace at the end, otherwise…

Torturing children are hot buttons for me. All action and no plot are another hot button.

Your new book already sounds fabulous. And it’s amazing that you’ve gotten the office done so quickly. You don’t waste time!

Harm coming to children or animals. And cheaters, like posted above. Can’t stand them.
Will you share what color you painted your new office? *G* The new proposal sounds cool! Can’t wait to read it when it’s published!

I’m like you, don’t touch children; in fact I stopped reading VC Andrews because of this; or even something sad happening to children: Lovely bones, a great book and I’m sure a great movie but it is still about a dead child who did not die of natural causes. No, give me a good paranormal with angels and vampires, werewolves and shifters and I’m a happy camper.

I would have to agree with all of the above, but another thing that I would have to add to the list, is a blatent rape scene. To me that is really a turn off. I like when it is agreeable to both parties *** Grin ***
