Booking It…but, first, Back to Blog

First, I get to announce the winner of my weekend contest! Congratulations to Willa! (Comment #9). Willa, please email me (cynthia@cynthiaeden.com) to claim your prize. 🙂 And thank you to everyone for the comments! More contests will be coming, so stay tuned!

For today’s Booking It post, I want to talk horror. Ah, horror. I do love a good horror read. Actually, what I really like is horror romance, but I just don’t see that sub-genre enough. A few years back, when Silhouette launched the Silhouette Shadows line, there were some releases that I would definitely classify as horror romance. Loved them. But then the line folded. Sigh.

When I was a teen, I devoured Christopher Pike’s horror novels–and the guy had a great way of mixing horror with romantic elements. Maybe that’s where I first got my horror crush. The Pike novel that I remember the most? REMEMBER ME. The heroine was killed but she, um, lingered around to find her killer. Really enjoyed that one.

But, right now, I’d like to find some adult novels–horror romances. Anyone have a recommendation for me?

    Congrats Willa!

Horror Romance – uhm I have know idea. I’ve stayed away from that genre.

  2. I used to read Christopher Pike also as a kid! And RL Stine. Loved them both.

I’m not sure what you mean by horror romance. I’ve never heard of that before. Do you mean like a romantic suspense but gritty?

    Congratulaions, Willa!

Nope, no suggestions here. Don’t read horror. But I pre-ordered Midnight Sins this weekend! Looking forward to reading it.

You might like Lee Hunts newest, The Vampire of New York. It’s listed as paranormal, but is very gritty and more horror to me.

I forgot to say Congratulations Willa!

AND you might also like Vampyres of Hollywood by Adrienne Bareau and Micheal Scott. Again, not listed as horror, but very graphic violence and very dark.

Squeeee! 😀 Thanks everyone and of course Cynthia! I have never read a horror romance so can’t help with any suggestions. Sounds intriguing . . . .
