The Soft Sound of Jazz Music…

Posted in Romance on July 14th, 2007 by Cynthia Eden

I had a bit of an unusual episode today.

The hubby and I are going to be revamping the look of my website, and we went to Magnolia Cemetery, one of the oldest (if not THE oldest!) cemeteries in Mobile. Many of the graves in Magnolia date back to the 1800s. I wanted to go to this cemetery because there are dozens of beautiful, old statues, and I’d like to include a few black and white photos of these statues on my updated website.

It had been raining when we arrived at the cemetery. Actually, the rain was still falling in a light drizzle. Nick stayed in the car with Jack while I hopped out and began my photo expedition. I took the first picture, and then I heard it…the soft sound of jazz music. I looked around, certain that someone close by was playing a saxophone.

But I didn’t see anyone else in the cemetery.

I figured whoever was playing the sax must just be out of my sight, but I have to confess, I got goosebumps. I finished snapping a few more photos, then decided I’d run back to the car–I wanted Nick to hear the music, too. Just as my hand touched the door handle, the music stopped.

I drove all around that cemetery after that–I couldn’t find any cars, heck, I couldn’t find any other people! Right before I left, I did finally discover a few workers–but they sure weren’t playing any music.

So…what happened? Did I catch one of those psychic echoes I’ve heard about? Did I catch a whiff of something supernatural? I don’t know.

But I was very, very glad to leave that cemetery.

It looks cool.

I just can’t help it–I think this movie looks cool, and I can’t wait to see it. Besides, with the name of Skinwalkers, and with the tagline of “For them to live, we must die”–how could I not see the film? Don’t worry. I’ll post a review for everyone. 🙂

Hope you’re all having a great Friday the 13th!

Today’s post and a broken pinky toe.

Posted in Romance on July 10th, 2007 by Cynthia Eden

Hi! Today’s post is up at The Bradford Bunch (I’m talking about my editing process).

In other news…I do believe I broke my poor pinky toe yesterday while I was playing with Jack. The dang thing hurt all night, is now twice the size of the other pinky toe, and has a dark bruise that circles the toe. A call was put in to the local doctor’s office after my clumsy incident, and, apparently, there isn’t much that can be done for the pinky (the forgotten toe). Oh, well. I’ll just stick to my flip flops for comfort and try not to hobble.
