Big thanks to Cynthia for having me on the blog today!
So for those of you who didn’t hear me screaming from Oregon yesterday (what? My raucous excitement didn’t reach you???), I’ll recap what the hullabaloo was all about:
My first paranormal released yesterday!
MARKED is the first book in my new Eternal Guardians Series which centers around seven warriors descended from the greatest heroes in all of Ancient Greece. The first book, MARKED, is Theron’s book. He’s the leader of the Argonauts—the band of guardians who defend their race—and he’s been sent on a quest to locate the human woman who fulfills a prophecy that will save his realm. The catch? He falls for her, big time, even knowing bringing her back ensures her certain death.
I have had so much fun writing this new series. Part of that fun is getting to do whatever I want with the paranormal aspect of the story. For a writer who has stayed pretty much in the romantic suspense realm and ha had to work with real world boundaries, writing paranormals is almost freeing in a sense. But the bigger reason I’m having a great time with these books is because I LOVE Greek mythology. I love the research aspect, I love twisting the myths to fit my characters and my world, and I really love that most characters in Greek mythology straddled the line between good and evil so I can decide if I want them to be hero or villain.
The one downside to this series? I could spend all day researching. Seriously. It sucks me in every time, and before I know it, four hours have gone by. There are so many stories associated with Ancient Greece, I don’t think I’ll ever get through them all. But man, I am having fun trying.
Are you a mythology nut like me? Whether you are or aren’t, what do you love most about paranormal romances?
I’ve got a copy of MARKED just itching to find its way into a reader’s hands. Leave me a comment to be entered to win!

Hi, everyone! So sorry that I’ve been quiet lately–but I’ve got a good reason for being so quiet on the blog. I was working. Really. Editing, revising, proofing. Between July 2010 and March of 2011, I will have 7 releases (one is a re-release, but 6 brand new stories!) that will hit the shelves.
In July, the second book in my paranormal Night Watch series, I’LL BE SLAYING YOU, will be released by Kensington Brava. For the vamp lovers out there–this book is for you. I like to switch up my paranormal characters when I write, but for I’LL BE SLAYING YOU, I went back to one of my all-time favorite paranormals–the vampire.
Then, in August, Grand Central will release the first book in my new “Deadly” romantic suspense series. I’m super excited about DEADLY FEAR. It’s a very dark book with characters who’ve been to hell and back. The next two books in the Deadly series are DEADLY HEAT (Feb 2011) and DEADLY LIES (March 2011). I’ve gotten to see the covers for those books–love ’em!–and hopefully I’ll be able to share them soon.
I recently received my delivery of bookmarks for I’LL BE SLAYING YOU and DEADLY FEAR. This week, I’ll organize my bookstore and reader mailings. If you’d like some bookmarks, just send your address to cynthia@cynthiaeden.com with the subject line of “Bookmarks” and I’ll get some out to you.
Here are the bookmarks, btw:
So with the back-to-back release of these books, I’m busy planning promotion efforts. Actually, that’s really what I wanted to talk about with you today. I wanted to let you know that this summer–well, things will be pretty busy at my blog. You see, I’m currently planning for my “Deadly Days of Summer.”
Beginning June 1, I’ll have some fabulous guest authors for you. There will be tons of prizes–books, ARCs, gift cards. Interesting posts, character interviews, quizzes, videos. A fun time. 🙂
The summer will be divided into two parts. June will be our paranormal month as I gear up for the release of I’LL BE SLAYING YOU, then, when July rolls around, it will be time for romantic suspense.
Oh, yes, my Deadly Days are coming (I’ll even have a cool widget up about the summer soon).
So please, stay tuned for more details!
And, hey, be sure you check back in tomorrow. The fabulous Elisabeth Naughton will be my guest for Write On! Wednesday.
Enjoy your day!
