Quiet after the Storm Back to Blog

I want to send out my wishes for a very speedy recovery effort for those areas (and people!) who were hit hard by Gustav.  My prayers are certainly with you.

We didn’t get too much bad weather here–just some flooding and strong winds (winds that took down one of our trees).  I suspect things will pretty much be normal business here in Mobile, and I hope the normalcy can return to Louisiana and Mississippi soon, too.

So glad you didn’t get hit bad. I heard from one friend in LA, who can’t go back to her house just yet, but heard the roof is on. She also heard it might be 3 to 6 weeks before she’ll have electricity. 🙁 Another friend in Texas hasn’t checked in yet. I’m sure she’s all right. She evacuated early. I just hope her house is okay.

Just got POWER yesterday! I’m so excited about that. The yard is a mess but we were truly blessed and are all safe 🙂 Of course our entire area is a wreck, and it will be a while before life returns to normal, since some have another 21 days before they get power and schools in some areas won’t be getting back on track for some time. My oldest however is in a small school district and all of their schools but one are good enough to get back and have power so she returns tomorrow 🙂
