After she paid the bill, they walked out of the diner and stood momentarily underneath the L tracks.
“I plan to bring the matter to the grand jury next week,” Rylann told him, raising her voice to speak over an approaching train. “I’ll call you as soon as I have the exact date and time you’ll be testifying.”
She extended her hand in farewell, and Kyle closed his hand around hers.
“This is a good thing you’re doing, Kyle,” she said. “Just remember—”
The train roaring directly overhead made it impossible for him to hear her. Kyle gestured to his ear, shaking his head. She stepped close to him, and put her hand on his shoulder as she stood up on her toes to speak in his ear.
Her breath was a soft caress on his neck, her voice low in his ear. “—Don’t screw it up.”
He turned his head so that they were eye to eye, his lips mere inches from hers. He said nothing for a moment, and neither did she, and he became very aware of the catch in her breath, the warmth of her hand on his shoulder.
Kyle felt a sudden urge to pull her closer. He’d teased her in the diner about their kiss, but unless he was wholly off his game after those four months in prison, the vibe he was getting from her right then was very real. If he bent his head just the slightest, he could brush his lips over hers. Find out if she tasted as good as she did in his memory.
“How are we doing on that eight-minute stretch of getting along?” he asked huskily.
Rylann stayed where she was at first, their lips still so close. Then she cocked her head and met his gaze. “Time’s up.”

I would love to be in a hotel overlooking Niagara Falls. In a honeymoon suite wearing a white fluffy robe just after I took a jucazzi bath with my hubby. (Other details omitted 🙂 LOL)—Rachel
Mine is very simple. We’d have a light bite then take some wine and a blanket, go down to the beach, listen to the waves and watch the stars :).
Dinner at a romantic restaurant. A walk on the beach. Dancing at a club. Then back to a room lit by candles, with a jacuzzi, a big poster bed, and a spectacular view.
Not much in the crowd scene. So perhaps a simple nice dinner, then a leisure walk
Hang out with my husband, nice dinner, then maybe a night cruise….alone, without my kid! HA
Love Julie’s books! I actually own this book and really liked it. My “dream” night would be similar to Viki’s! Since I live in East Central Illinois and don’t get to be near the ocean or even a lake that seems like an ocean (such as Lake Michigan) I would love to have a beach date (secluded of course)! Congrats on all your books, Julie.
We would eat out or have a home cooked meal and then out for a movie or ballgame and then go pick up some dessert as Serendipity 3.
My dream night is one that involves being able to fall asleep quickly, stay asleep continuously through the night, and wake up in the morning refreshed 😀 That may sound boring and unromantic, but, when you have been getting woke up every night like clockwork from a child having nightmares or sleepwalking/talking due to a medication reaction, romance is the last thing on your mind LOL! After I have caught up on sleep my dream night would consist of hubby and I sharing an all expense paid luxurious hotel suite complete with garden or jacuzzi tub in some exotic local with private access to a white sand beach and crystal clear waters. Of course I’d prefer a week as opposed to just ONE night, but beggars can’t be choosers 😉
I’ve had a pretty good dream night already. I was in London and attended a formal dinner at the London Aquarium. Later we walked along the Thames to the London Eye. We got to see London at night. It was a great view.
My dream night is very simple. Going out to eat a quiet dinner and then going to see a movie.
My dream night would be a romantic dinner, then either a late night dip in the pool or relaxing in the jacuzzi.

My dream night is all about rest and relaxation. I wouldn’t mind a home-cooked meal and a nice backyard midnight picnic. If there’s an ocean or lake nearby even better because then I can stare at the stars. Very cozy and quiet.

My dream night would be on the Pacific Coast in a glass house perched on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Nothing but the sound of crashing waves, whispered promises, and hot bodies!

I really want to read this book! In fact I had a few ebooks on All Romance and bought it before I realized it was only available in epub which doesn’t work on my kindle. Talk about fustrating!
On a Hawaiian beach! No luau but some perfectly seasoned and cooked locally caught fish would be great. From my previous vacations there though, I know I would have to cook my own veggie dishes. So my “dream” night would include yummy salads and veggies, like what one would have in a nice restaurant, or even a deli, in California.
First, a nice romantic dinner. Then, a walk on the beach by the seashore. Last but not least, sit by the fireplace and watch a romantic movie.

Go to the most beautiful place at my country, which is Bali. And spend the night with my boyfriend, having romantic dinner, and then maybe he will propose me. ^^

i love being away with my hunny.. we’ve been to Niagara falls ( best hotel ever.. stayed in a renovated milk bottling plant.. rooms were amazing) and we got to spend time wandering thought town, and enjoy the amazing room…

My dream night would be a cozy dinner with my sweetie with all the trimmings. Then a night of dancing and being held by him spinning around the dance floor (of course my fairy godmother waved her wand and I can dance). Then a limo drive home to a night of romance with just the two of us 😉

My dream night would be in a resort in Hawaii, a full moon, a nice dinner with yummy fruity drinks and the waves crashing nearby, maybe a late evening swim followed by a dip in the hot tub.
My dream night would involve lots and lots of delicious and expensive food (without my feeling remotely fat because of it!), and maybe a hot tub XD

Stay the night in a castle in Ireland. Near a small village. Where you can sit in the local pub and hear stories and music. Where you can visit ruins and lookout and see and hear the water. And you can see the heather and green lush landscape. Even if only for one night it would be worth it.
Ooh, a night in at a posh enough hotel with great room service and hours to enjoy the stars through the glass ceiling overhead and the sunken bathtub and the plush bed…

My dream night is eating at a local seafood restaurant on the water, watching the sunset and taking a walk on the beach!
I think the company matters more than the setting. As long as it’s me & my hubby, I’m happy 🙂
