Be TRUE with Joyce Lamb (awesome book giveaway, ahoy!) Back to Blog

Update: The winner of TRUE VISION and TRUE COLORS is…Diane Sadler! Congrats, Diane! And thanks to everyone for the comments!

I love parties. Have I mentioned that a time or twenty today?  Thanks so much for coming by to celebrate with me.  🙂

The next author that we are spotlighting at the party is multi-published, romantic suspense (with great paranormal elements!) author Joyce Lamb. Before I talk about the  books,  I have to share something I read on Joyce’s “About Me” page:

“Besides writing, I love to play tennis and board games and grill out with friends. My guilty pleasures include The Real Housewives of New York, Project Runway and So You Think You Can Dance. I don’t have time to be ashamed.”

I don’t have time to be ashamed. Oh, Joyce, that made me smile–and it may just be my new motto!

Today, Joyce is offering up a copy of  TRUE VISION and a copy of  TRUE COLORS to a commenter.  Very cool.  Here are the details for these great books:

And here’s the TRUE VISION blurb:

Newspaper reporter Charlie Trudeau is living an ordinary life, until witnessing a fatal hit-and-run accident gives her an intense psychic power she has no clue how to handle—and brings a Chicago police detective to her doorstep…

Noah Lassiter wants nothing more than to find the driver who killed his good friend. But his only lead is the beautiful Charlie Trudeau, who gets prickly when he starts nosing around town. Charlie’s clearly hiding something, but Noah needs her help unraveling the mystery of his friend’s death—even if the electricity between them complicates things.

But the more Noah and Charlie uncover, the more they realize they’re looking for a desperate killer—and the more danger they’re in. And if Charlie can’t gain control over her psychic powers, they may not survive long enough to explore the full sizzling potential of their desire…

***

And here’s the cover of  TRUE COLORS:

Alex Trudeau has everything she ever wanted. She takes pictures for the local paper, she’s rescued a family of mutts, and hot police detective John Logan has finally asked her out. But then a near-death experience unearths an intense psychic ability she never knew she had…

John Logan moved to Lake Avalon, Florida, to escape a lifetime of hardship. When his darkest secret comes to town with revenge in mind, Logan lands the woman of his dreams in a serial killer’s crosshairs…

With their lives on the line and Alex’s hallucinatory flashes dragging her deeper into the twisted mind of a maniac, Logan and Alex face the ultimate test.  The tension is electric, but to survive they’ll have to look more than skin-deep—they just might not like everything they find…

Want to win?  These books deal with psychic powers (something that has always fascinated me).  Often, people are asked which psychic power they’d like to have…well, this time,I want to know the psychic power you’d NEVER want.  Leave a comment and you could win these great books! (Giveaway will run until noon on 6/29/11.)  Thanks!!

I love reading Romantic Suspense but have never had the opportunity to read Joyce Lamb. These sound like great books.

The one psychic power I would not want would be to read people’s minds. I think it would crush me to hear people thinking mean things about me and others.

  9. Chelsea B. says:

I would never want to see the future. That would scare me to death. Huh. I wonder if I would see that…. 😉

  10. Stephanie M says:

I wouldn’t want to be an empath. Although it could be helpful in understanding why people are reacting to something it can be overwhelming to feel everything that someone is feeling.

  11. Anastasia says:

I would never want to be a mind reader, I think it would be really disturbing to know what other people are truly thinking.

  12. Ren Puspita says:

i used to think i WOULD WANT to read minds, but nope ,dont think i do anymore. OY i never thought about so many minds all going at once

  16. misskallie2000 says:

I would not want to hear others thoughts or read minds. To much in my mind to fill with others thoughts. Just imagine the noise you would have in your head hearing all those thoughts.

  17. Tiffany K says:

I never really payed much attention to psychic powers. I have seen TV shows with people having them, and the one that stood out to me was in Charmed, where Phoebe was an empath. I would never want the power to feel what everyone is feeling. With so many people around you would never get a moment of peace.

  18. The Warrior says:

I probably do not want the power of a medium

  19. Minna says:

I wouldn’t want to know what people are thinking.

  20. Stacey A Smith says:

  21. Crystal says:

I wouldn’t want to be an empath and be bombarded by other’s emotions.

  22. kristin nelson says:

Reading Minds would be cool but I can see the drawbacks. It could be very hurtful! I wouldn’t want to be an Empath either! Hearing thoughts is one thing but feeling emotions would just be too much!

  23. June M. says:

I would not want to be an empath or to be able to read other peoples minds. I have enough problems with the voices already in my head, lol.

  24. Fedora says:

Like others have said, I think there’s a reason we generally aren’t allowed to experience other people’s emotions–it would be a terrible invasion of your privacy and theirs. And what a burden! Intriguing story line, Joyce!

  25. I don’t think I would want to read other peoples minds. I’m paranoid enough as it is, I would hate to know what others really thought of me.

  26. Terri says:

Romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres. I haven’t had a chance to read Joyce’s books but would love too!

I wouldn’t want to read people’s minds because it would be quite intrusive.

  27. Danny says:

To hear the thoughts of other people, that would drive me crazy

  28. Linda says:

I wouldn’t want to see/know the future… it’s like flipping to the end of the book & reading it 1st.

  29. Michelle McMichael says:

I would hate to be a touch sensitive. Never being able to go anywhere or do anything without gloves incase you get a reading… No thank you! 🙂

  30. Ashley A says:

I would never want to be an empath. That would be too painful!

  31. CrystalGB says:

I wouldn’t want to know the future. It would worry me to much.

  32. Shelly Estes says:

Joyce’s books sound really good! I wouldn’t want to be an empath either, or to see the future, unless you could change it for the better (Like Tru Calling).

  33. Betty Hamilton says:

I wouldn’t want to be able to read minds… sometimes its better NOT to know! ;o)

  34. I wouldn’t want to hear people’s thoughts constantlyx! would drive me crazy. I would rather be able to read their thoughts only if I touched them, that way, I could have some control over my power.

Thank you for the great giveaway!

  36. Krissy H says:

    Telekinesis for me.

  37. JoAnna B says:

I dont want to be able to read other people’s thought.

  38. Spav says:

Telepathy. I don’t think I could handle hearing other people’s thoughts.

  39. Angela says:

I wouldn’t want to constantly feel other’s emotions… empath… no thanks. My feelings are hard enough to deal with sometimes! 😉

  40. JoJo says:

Ohhhh, great question! I think the one power that should not exist would be to control people. To be able to make people do what ever you want. That would just be all around horrible!
Thanks for the giveaway and joining in the fun!
