Jello and Hard Lemonade Back to Blog

Okay…I was making dinner tonight…slaving away over my semi-hot stove, and I realized I needed a treat. Of course, a quick raid of my pantry showed no chocolate, no cake. A glance in my freezer revealed no ice cream, not even any yogurt.

Dang. I’d forgotten that I hadn’t bought any good food in two months–since I’d been on my post-pregnancy diet.

But, tonight, well, tonight I thought screw the diet.

And I got creative. I found a box of Jello, and I discovered that my hubby had stocked the fridge with Mike’s Hard Lemonade. A quick mix and viola–I had a treat. Or, rather I’ll have one in four hours when my brew hardens.

Come on time, pass…pass…

I have a neat little trick for making jello much quicker! If you’re using the small box (the one that calls for 1 cup hot water and 1 cup cold)when you put in the cold water, use a cup of crushed ice and enough Hard Lemonade to make 1 cup. Stir it until the ice melts, and it’s done in about 1/3 of the time! Of course, it helps if the ice is made from the lemonade, too!
By the way, love, love, love your new website and blog!!!

Cool–I’ll definitely try your trick. At 10 o’clock last night, my brew was finally done–and it was dang good! 🙂
    What a nice treat.
And thanks for the website compliments–I’ll pass them on to Nick-Knack.
