My favorite romantic suspense novel is… Back to Blog
Update: The winner of the Amazon.com gift certificate is…Joye! Congrats, Joye!
Oh, this is hard. Recently, I was asked to name my favorite romantic suspense novel. Tough question. Because, you see, I have a few favorites…
One that always springs immediately to mind for me is Linda Howard’s DREAM MAN. Loved this one, but it’s not straight romantic suspense. The heroine is psychic, and she literally gets into the mind of the killer. (Since I am such a paranormal fan, I–of course–adored this plot element.)
Another book that was dark and gritty (and at the time the hero really reminded me of Spike from Buffy) is Anne Stuart‘s INTO THE FIRE. Anne Stuart is always great at delivering sexy, suspenseful tales.
And, I am a HUGE fan of Shannon McKenna. I devour her stories. One of my favorite McKenna books (because I love them all) is STANDING IN THE SHADOWS. Hot hero, danger, great chemistry–what more could I want?
These are just three of my favorite romantic suspense re-reads. There are so many, many more.
But what is your favorite romantic suspense? Share with me! I’ll pick one commenter to win a $10 Amazon.com gift certificate–that way, maybe you go buy another romantic suspense!!

I have quite a few favorites, but just to name a few. J.D.Robb, Leslie Parrish, Kylie Brant, Rebecca York, and Rita Heron.
Cherry Adair is my favorite!!
I’d go with Anne Stuart, Black Ice one of my favorites.
Too many choices–I’d go with Alison Kent, since she’s one of the first to introduce me to this genre 🙂
Hi Cynthia! I havent read alot of Linda Howard but that was one I read and After The Night Whew she did great tension all around with these two (sexual tension and the suspense) and it so sizzled Love those with the romance strong like McKenna too, love those McClouds. Another on my keepersshelf is Judith McNaughts PERFECT It was that, perfect! I remember it was over 750 pages and I didnt leave the couch for two days reading it. It was her earlier books. I too loved Cindy Gerard bodyguards. Congrats on your first of many romance suspense to come!
Oh it’s so hard to pick one. I too have to say JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series and any of JD Robb’s In Death series. One of my favorite reads this year is Sandra Brown’s Rainwater, an unbelievable read.
