Today’s Fortune Back to Blog
Today was Nick’s birthday, so for dinner, we went to Stix and enjoyed the Hibachi Grill. After we ate, I received a fortune cookie with this message: “Ambition is the incentive that makes purpose great and achievement greater.”
Now, normally, I don’t think much of fortunes found in cookies, but I liked this one because it made me pause for a moment and think about my writing career. Without my ambition, well, there would be no career to talk about on this lovely blog. Ambition drives me. It makes me write when I just want to call it a day and sleep. It makes me plot when I’m tempted to catch an episode of CSI. I think a healthy dose of ambition is in the blood of most writers. If you don’t have it, well, then you’d never be able to finish one book.
And speaking of finishing a book, ahem…got to go!

LOL, Cynthia, so true. Ambition is what makes me try to write 8 pages a day. No CSI, or anything else for me at the moment. I hope you’re still on track with your goals.
8 pages a day is a great goal, Michelle! So far, I’m still on track. I may have to derail a bit, I’ll find out for certain next week. Until then, I’ll keep plodding along.
Same here. Ambition is telling me to write too. Ambition and dreams. Big ones. To achieve them, I’ve got to write.
If we don’t have our dreams, then I don’t think we can have ambition. Continued good luck and good dreams to you, Edie!
