30 Days of Demons, Day 24: A Demon Recipe Back to Blog
Update: The winner of the gift certificate is…Sarah! Congrats, Sarah!
Want to know how I make my demons? Well, I just follow this secret family recipe. (Um, not so secret anymore.)
Recipe for a sexy demon hero:
1. Start with one huge helping of sexy.
2. Remove pointed tail and cloven feet–just won’t work (what with that previously mentioned huge helping of sexy).
3. Throw in a dash of darkness…because, come on, we all like the bad.
4. Add a tortured past. Cause…he’s a demon. Not like his life has been all sunshine and sweetness.
5. Drop a heroine in his path, one who won’t faint when she learns that her new lover comes with a few special”extras”–extras can be good. Note: Extras do not include that tail or the cloven feet; hence the removal.
6. When preparing, be sure to turn up the heat. Demons like the heat.
7. Mix well. Don’t forget to throw in some drama, some plot twists, and a villain or two–so that our demon can prove his strength.
8. Enjoy! Your demon is ready. 🙂

Great recipe! In my demon book, I might add a dash of humor, too. I won’t know for sure until I write it.
Hi Cynthia
I wish I had your talent for writing, but I don’t so all I’ll say is keep up with the great books and looking forward to Midnight’s Master and any other books you will write in the future.
PS I love demons.
I have to say, I like yours. I need to get cooking! ** Grin **
Congrats on your new releases Cynthia. I can’t wait to get ahold of the Midnight books. I am also extremely excited about the ARC of Belong to the Night I have waiting to be read. I still have to find Imortal Danger to add to my TBR pile.
yummy!!! sounds like a tasty treat to me! lemme go whip one of those up, and hey, he may like the whipping 🙂
Hi Cynthia,
I don’t think I can improve on your recipe!
lol I think you found the best recipe there and wouldn’t want to mess with a good thing.
The only place I can whip up a new recipe is the kitchen. *G* Your recipe sounds perfect and why mess with perfection? *G*
Yup, I’m stalking you today, lol.
I’m not talented enough to come up with a Demon recipe, lol, I’ll leave that up to you masters….you just keep cooking them up, and I’ll keep reading them, lol.
Although I’m really glad you ditched the cloven feet and forked tail…not sure how they’d fit in in my fantasies!!
Sounds like a good recipe to me!
Hello Cynthia,
Why would I want to go and ruin a perfectly good recipe? I don’t. I think I’ll just stick to your original recipe unless someone wants to go for extra crispy. LOL Have a great day.
I like the recipe. But one question- shouldn’t he have a tiny bit of conscience? After all without it, how can he have that tortured past? Anyway, cook one up for me.
Great recipe – I’d add a pair of great looking eyes & a head of thick curly hair.
I’ll have to give this recipe a try. Hope I don’t get the measurements wrong.
dont forget the great, lush, firm, squeeeeeeeeeezable tush! hehe
Love your recipe, I would just add that he have the physical look of a fallen angel, dark haired, piercing eyes and to-die-for body.
Great recipe! I think the one ingredient I might add would be a thirst for redemption. It ties in to that tortured past and, like Nancy said, it’s good to have a bit of a conscience. Plus, if we’re talking about writing a demon, there’s a good portion of your plot.
OMG I LOVE your receipe. 🙂 I think you have it pretty much covered. 🙂
i’d through in a dash of sarcasm for the heroine or the hero. Dunno, but I tend to really like a witty sarcastic character. I seem to fall harder for them.
Maybe I’ve been reading too many paranormals, but I wouldn’t mind if you left him with a tail. Not so fond of cloven feet, though. But maybe he could shapeshift.
Oh, I like your secret family recipe. I think I need to try it a few times before I can tell if it needs any additions or not…practice makes perfect, right and I definitely would want a ‘perfect’ demon after using your recipe. Can’t wait to try this recipe.
1. Sexy alpha man
2. A villian or two
3. Add in a kickass heroine
4. Hero and heroine have to save the world
5. Mix them all together and they make a great book!
I tried, yours is way better than mine. lol.
Hi Cynthia! Now thats a great recipe! I can’t beat yours. I’d just say ‘add Cynthia Eden’s books to top it off’ 🙂
Perfect recipe, about all I’d add is a wicked sense of humor.
I don’t really have a recipe for demons, but yours is definitely a great one – it’s given us some great heroes so far.
Love your Recipe the only thing i would add is a sense of fun but yes great recipe.

I think that’s the perfect recipe. Maybe just add a good helping of the voluptuous Valerie to really round it up…hehe!!!
Great recipe. I can’t think of a thing to add. 🙂
The only think – I can think to add is some “alpha” maybe it’s just me but demons need to have some alpha in them. So when they find their mate – they can be all protective and possessive. 🙂
Congratulations, Sarah!
