Booking It Back to Blog

Wow–another weekend gone. That means it’s time for a Booking It post, and, today, I’m just focusing on one author.

Tell me, have you read Kresley Cole?  If you haven’t, you really, really should.

The first book that I read by Kresley was A HUNGER LIKE NO OTHER. This story introduced me to her Immortals After Dark series. What a series!  These are dark, edgy paranormals.  Complex plots. Gripping characters. Ah, the stories that keep you up at night. (They keep me up!)

This week, the latest installment, KISS OF A DEMON KING, hits shelves.  Here’s the blurb:

After Sabine, the Queen of Illusions, lures and traps Rydstrom Woede in her lair, the ruthless warrior fights to resist her seduction. But his fierce demon nature lusts for her delicate body and won’t be denied. Even as Rydstrom plots to escape, he still intends to claim Sabine as his own—on his terms.

Her downfall: the battle-scarred demon who vows to keep her at all costs.

When Rydstrom breaks free, her abducts Sabine, turning the tables. Now she’s the one struggling to resist his delicious torment. With each relentless encounter, Sabine hungers more for her merciless adversary.

They were never supposed to want each other this much…

If they can defeat the sinister enemy that stands between them, will Sabine make the ultimate sacrifice to save her demon? Or will the proud king lay down his crown and arms to keep his sorceress?

Come on…that just sounds good!  And here’s the cover:

Yeah, I’m buying this one as soon as possible–and probably reading it all in one sitting.

And what’s on your reading agenda this week?

Well… *shuffling feet* I have a long list of books that I’ve promised (to myself first, but to other people too *ahemcoughahem*) to review that I should be reading…

Kresley Cole: I have the first five books in the overwhelmingly large TBR mountain range… I hope to get to them soon (won’t define “soon” though)

I have not read Kresley Cole yet. Her books are on my TBB and add to my TBR pile to be read eventually:)

However I’m currently reading an Fragile by Shiloh Walker and Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband by Melissa Mayhue.

I finished Bedviled by Maureen Child last night/this morning *G*. Also a YA titled Oh. My. Gods. by Tera Lynn Childs. Both were very good! Next up is Out of Time by Samantha Graves. Oh, also read Black Magic Woman by Justin Gastainis. Wow.
I haven’t read Kresley Cole, either. But, I’m willing to try an author, at least once! *G*

  4. Jane says:

I’ve never read Kresley’s books either. I’m also done with Karen Hawkins’ “Talk of the Town.” Next up is Alison Kent’s “Maximum Exposure.”

  5. Willa says:

I tried Kresley Cole after hearing such great things – and sadly, didn’t work for me. *Ho-hum*

Am currently re-reading Hotter After Midnight – after you posted about Niol last week I got withdrawals and wanted to visit with him again. Just love Emily & Colin! 😀

  6. Edie says:

I’ve heard her name everywhere and Kiss of a Demon King sounds great. I know Liz Kreger is a Kresley Cole fan.

I love Kresley Cole! Wicked Deeds on A Winter’s Night is my favorite, but I really liked all of her books…even the historicals. I just finished reading Midnight Sins, it was awesome *Grins* and now I’m starting Zack by Cheyenne McCray. After that, who knows…any suggestions????

  8. Cynthia Eden says:

LOL, azteclady, I refuse to define “soon” too! I’ve got a big stack of TBR and that thing is just gonna get bigger.

Oh, Greta, I’ve heard good things about Fragile. Another one I want!

Brandy, you’ve been one busy reading woman! And I love the title “Oh. My. Gods.” 🙂

Jane, I love Allison’s stories! Always good action.

Hey, Willa! You know, I think that is just a different strokes for different folks situation. We all like different things–that’s what makes us all so awesome!I’m actually in the process of doing my copy-edits on Midnight’s Master now (Niol’s story) and that’s why I’ve been a little quiet lately. Ah, Niol. I really liked that man/demon.

Hi, Edie! Congrats, woman! Congrats on advancing to round 3!

Cheryl, I think A HUNGER LIKE NO OTHER is my favorite (so far). And thank you very much for the compliment on Midnight Sins!! Totally made me smile.

I love this series, can’t wait to read Rydstrom’s story.

Just finished Marry the Captain by Carla Kelly, so good, but then her books always are.

  10. Willa says:

    ” Ah, Niol. I really liked that man/demon. ”

Can’t wait to get my sticky mitts on him! Lol! 😀

  11. Karin says:

I haven’t read Kresley Cole yet, but I have one of her Immortals After Dark series in my TBR pile. I don’t remember which one, but now I really want to just go home and read it.

Pam, I’ve heard good things about Marry the Captain. Now you’ve sold me–it’s on my list!

LOL, thanks, Willa! I hope you enjoy his story!

Hi, Karin! Do it! Read and let me know what you think. 🙂
