Time for a legend… Back to Blog

Many of you may have heard this tale (if one can call it that) before, but it’s fun, so I thought I’d post about it. According to legend, if you are an unmarried woman, then on Halloween night, you should take a candle and sit in an otherwise dark room. Gaze into a mirror. Eventually, you will see the face of the man you are to marry (so the story goes). If, unfortunately (very unfortunately), you are fated to die before you wed, you should see a skull reflected in the mirror (not very cheery, huh?). Apparently, this legend was once so popular that greeting cards about it began appearing all across the U.S.

I didn’t know about that, but not coming from a country that celebrates Halloween, that’s probably not surprising :). Sounds like you could write that into a book, Cynthia.

You know, I think you’re right, Michelle! That would be interesting in a story.

Guess what I’ll be doing on Halloween night! Michelle is right, that would be a great story idea!
How long do you think it takes? I’m thinking I may need to buy more candles.

That would be a fun story. Hey, how come you don’t have your new Secrets cover up? Rae sent it out in her newsletter and Larissa has it up on the WriteMinded blog. You have some bragging to catch up with. *g*

    Congrats! The cover looks great!

  5. Cynthia Eden says:

Do it, Fuzz, and let me know what you see! (Fingers crossed that a skull won’t appear.)

  6. Cynthia Eden says:

Edie, I am so glad you like the cover! Dang–those ladies are fast! I got Nick to put the cover up on my homepage last night, but I will post it now on the blog, too.
I had so much fun doing my trailer for The Wizard’s Spell that I’m planning to do one for my upcoming Secrets story–hopefully, it will be up and running in the next two weeks.

  7. Edie says:

You did the trailer yourself? I’m in awe.

  8. Cynthia Eden says:

Ahem…in the interest of full disclosure I must confess that while the trialer visual ideas were mine, Nick actually put them together with his magic technological powers (powers I tend to lack).

  9. Mcihelle says:

Write the story, Cynthia, and I will buy it 🙂

BTW, forgot to say, its only fair I give you a story idea, you gave me one with your cold reading article.

Michelle, sounds like a fair exchange to me! And when you write the cold reading story, let me know so I can buy a book!
