The power of great dialogue lines… Back to Blog
Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of watching The 300. If you haven’t seen this film, I definitely recommend it! One of the things I enjoyed about the film (other than all the gorgeous, muscular men!) was the dialouge. I thought the writers of this flick did a fantastic job of creating strong, gripping dialogue. There wasn’t wasted chatter–the speeches were generally brief, the drama extreme, and I felt that every sentence uttered by the characters was of extreme importance.
In other words, I really liked what they said.
The lines in this film cut to the chase. They had great punch–and many people in the audience would respond immediately (and enthusiastically) to the comments.
So, here are a few of my favorite lines (and if you haven’t seen the movie yet, don’t read any more!):
Spartan King Leonidas: Give them nothing! But take from them everything!
Spartan King Leonidas: This is where we fight. This is where they die.
Spartan King Leonidas: There’s no reason we can’t be civil. [Stated while his soldiers slit the throats of wounded enemies.]
Queen Gorgo: This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this. I am not your Queen.
Anyone else have some favorite lines to share? Hmm?

This is the 3rd writer I heard talking about this movie. This is not the kind of movie I normally see, but you made me want to. *g*
The last movie I saw was Wild Hogs. I laughed all the way through it.
Oh, Edie, if you see it, please let me know what you think. The first time I saw the preview, I didn’t think it would be the best movie for me, either–but once I saw the actual film, I loved it!
And I’ve been wanting to see Wild Hogs. Thanks for letting me know it’s a good one!
