Some good news to share! Back to Blog

Okay…I’ve just got to share my news.

This little piece recently appeared in Publisher’s Marketplace:

Cynthia Eden’s TOUCHING THE DARKNESS, a psychologist whose patients are all supernatural creatures — lovelorn succubi, vampires with blood phobias and the occasional shifter with commitment issues — is pulled into a brutal murder investigation as a profiler, to Kate Duffy and Megan Records at Kensington Brava, in a nice deal, by Laura Bradford at Bradford Literary Agency (World).

Yay!!!! I am SO excited to announce that I’ve been offered a three-book deal from Kensington! I will be writing paranormal suspense novels, with the first slated for a tentative release date of 6/08. The first story has a much darker feel than my previous works (look for this “darker” tone to continue in the other Kensington tales). I had a fantastic time writing Touching the Darkness (tentative title that will change later), and I certainly hope to get to visit that world and those characters again.

AND…

I was recently contacted by Avon Red, and I’ve been a busy writer–I’ve just finished the draft for (again, tentatively titled–and oh, so subject to change) New Year’s Bites–an erotic, paranormal novella (a description will be posted soon, but no, it’s not about vampires!) that will be released in 01/08 as part of a New Year’s anthology.

So, so excited.

AND…

Red Sage publishing has made an offer on Blood Hunt, my erotic vampire romance. Here’s a teaser for that story: Vampiress Nema Alexander has a definite taste for bady boys. Slade Brion, a notorious bounty hunter, has just been charged with tracking her down. He won’t stop until he catches her, and Nema won’t stop until she claims him, forever.

* * *

My family is a rather superstitious lot. My mom has always said that bad things come in threes, and that good things do, too. Well, this time, I’ll believe that superstition.

Hmmm…did I mention that I am SO excited? I think I just might have to slap myself.

Congrats!! laura mentioned this to me when we chatted on Thursday. She didn’t give me your name, but I knew she was talking about you because I’d done my research before accepting an offer. HUGE congrats.

OMG, Cynthia! Congratulations! I’d read about the Kensington sale, but not about the other two. This is awesome!

WOW!!! Sounds like Congratulations are most certainly in order!

I popped over here after reading Annie Dean’s blog about you today. After seeing what is upcoming and looking at your backlist, I have a feeling your name will be showing up regularly on my Constant Cravings (TBP) list!

Oh, and did I mention I’m a complete werewolf ho? LOL!

  7. Cynthia Eden says:

Nick, you have to say that–you’re married to me! But thanks anyway!

  8. Cynthia Eden says:

Fuzz…thanks for being such a great friend. And, um…have you gotten started on that book yet, hmmm?

  9. Cynthia Eden says:

Annie–thanks! I glad to know that you signed with Laura and I’m sure you’ll be announcing some new deals soon!

  10. Cynthia Eden says:

Thanks, Edie! I just got my Red Sage contract, so I was holding off on mentioning that one until I had the paperwork in my hot hands. As for the Avon sale, well, I didn’t want to mention that one until I’d finished the draft since I was under such a time crunch with it–I was literally given about 4 weeks to get it done–exciting, but challenging!

  11. Cynthia Eden says:

Hi, QB! Welcome to my blog and thanks so much for your kind words! A werewolf ho, huh? I think I might can relate to that!

  17. Cynthia Eden says:

Thanks, Kate! Today I think I’m going to continue my mad, bad celebrations by gorging myself on Baskin Robbins ice cream cake…Hey, I figure if I don’t celebrate to the fullest extent now, I’ll never be able to!

  18. Jeri says:

WTG, Cynthia! I’m so happy for you. It is weird, isn’t it, how when it rains it pours, the good as well as the bad? Enjoy it all to the max!

  19. Cynthia Eden says:

Thanks, Jeri! And while I love getting the good news, I sure do it hate it when “bad” pours down on me!
