My new hero… Back to Blog

…is a white tiger shifter.

(Photo taken from my last trip to the zoo in New Orleans)

I love white tigers–I’ve always thought they were absolutely beautiful creatures. Strong. Deadly. (Yeah, let’s not forget the deadly part. Sometimes, I see folks on TV playing with ’em like they are kittens and I have to shake my head.)

I’m about 85 pages into my WIP, should hit that sweet 100 page mark by tomorrow night. I love having the first 100 pages completed. I know I’m in the book at that point. No turning back, I’m a fourth of the way finished. The set-up is complete, I’m deep in my characters and usually the action, too.

I enjoy using different creatures for my shifters. I’ve written about wolves, jaguars, even a dragon (that book will be out in 2009), and now a white tiger. There are some shifters you won’t see me touch–I’m just never going to write a book about a giraffe shifter. No matter how hard I try, I don’t think I could make that sexy. 🙂

Are there any shifter stories you’d like to see? Or maybe some others you’d like to add to my “no, please!” list?

Oooh, a white tiger. AWESOME! I love kitties of all shapes and sizes, can’t wait to read this one. Well, to your no-a seal (not a SEAL)? How is argh-argh-argh while clapping their flippers sexy? *G*

That sounds awesome Cynthia. I love the white tiger too, and the dragon idea is very very cool. It’s very nice to see different kinds of shifters. I can’t think of anything specific though if I do, you know I’ll use it. 😛

Cool Pic, Cindy! Anything Colin wanted to “shift” into was totally fine with me. I swear he could’ve been that girrafe you mentioned, and I’d have loved him anyway. 😆

This is my first time commenting on your website. I have two of your books Hotter After Midnight and When He Was bad in my TBR pile.

Larissa Ione has informed me that I need to read your books.

I have to say I’m a cat person and I love the white tiger idea. You could any of the big cats lynx, cougars, lions, tigers, and I will probably be a fan for life.

Part of me is wondering about a bear, but I’m still contemplating that one.

Hi, Brandy! Glad you like the white tiger idea! I think the big cats, with all their grace and power, can translate well in shifter stories.

Hiya, Zoe!! How goes the writing? I’d been wanting to write a dragon story for years and when I finally had the opportunity, I was pretty much smiling through the whole story.

Glad you like the pic, LaDonna! There’s a tiger exhibit, show coming to our local museum, so I’m hoping to get more shots up soon. And I am so glad you liked Colin! Jude is my white tiger guy–I hope you like him, too!

Thanks for visiting the site, Greta! When you get a chance to read those books, please do let me know what you think. Since you’re a cat person, you might really like my hero in When He Was Bad. 🙂 Ah, and Larissa told you about my books? She is so great–a great person and a fabulous writer.

The writing is fantastic. I’m totally in the flow and excited to get back to work monday. In fact I might write some rough draft long hand over the weekend.

Love the white tiger/shifter hero. That’s a great image.

What about a big friendly dog? And the heroine doesn’t know he’s a shifter. He likes licking the bottoms of her feet. 😈

Good going on the pages! I’m finally making progress. I wrote 50 pages this last week. I’m at the 140 pages mark. In about 4 weeks I should have a first draft done. I plan to do a lot of revising in my next draft.
