The very first book that I ever published, The Vampire’s Kiss, continues to work its little heart out over at Amazon. I was over at Amazon today to see if the cover for Secrets, Volume 21: Primal Heat was up, and I decided to check up on my vamp book.

It’s been about two weeks since I worked on a manuscript, and I’m starting to get twitchy. Time to get back in the saddle and start cranking out another story.

I like to take a break between books. Rest my mind. Let the characters drift away from me so that I can start fresh. But, if I go too long without writing, well, I really start to miss the process.

And the twitchiness ensues.

For the other writers out there, does this happen to you, too? When you’re between stories, do you feel the gnawing drive to get back to a new WIP? I think two weeks might just be my limit. So, starting Monday, I’ll begin a new manuscript. Since I’ve just gotten an offer on my house (woo-hoo, finally!) and will have to move out of the current place and into the new home in about three weeks, I won’t have as much time to devote to the new story as I’d like. I’ll aim for five pages a day, half of my normal output, but that should be enough to stop the withdrawal shakes.
