Halloween… Back to Blog
Have you seen ’em yet? The pumpkins. The flying witches. The vampire bats. Every store I enter seems to have the Halloween decorations up already. I know–some folks think it’s too early for that. But, hey, I’m a paranormal writer. For me, it’s NEVER too early for that. I’ve had my “Here lives the wicked witch and all her little monsters” sign up for weeks now. I can’t help it, the Halloween decorations make me feel good.
And speaking of Halloween…here’s a friendly reminder that my Month of Monsters will be kicking off on October 1. I’ve got some fabulous authors lined up to guest post–and there are some great prizes waiting for commenters! So be sure to come by for a month full of monster posts and fun. 🙂
I hit page 300 on my WIP. Got a little behind schedule due to the page proofs, but I’m trucking in the right direction now. A sneaky secondary character just appeared and he’s trying to steal my show. What is up with that? Now that I am in the final push on this story, the pages will start to come faster. It will be harder and harder for the hubby to drag me away from the computer. The story almost writes itself in those last 100-150 pages.
Over the weekend, I took my son to Six Flags. He had a great time in Thomas Land (the boy loves trains) and my husband rode the roller coasters. Yes, I stayed safely on the ground.
And how was your weekend?

Weekend was good. Went looking for light fixtures and fans for our new house. We haven’t even signed the papers and we are planning the decorating already.
We should be in our new house by Halloween. I can’t wait to see my baby granddaughter dressed up.
Cindy, glad your family got back safely with this crazy weather! It’s so funny about your secondary character because my 5-part series just turned into a 6-part series, thanks to a secondary character who just wouldn’t leave me alone until I agreed to give him his own!
Congrats on the 300 page mark! I love that number. You’re on the downhill track.
We were at an art fest on Sat. My husband was actually looking forward the Halloween artwork, but they didn’t have any. The nerve!
Hi Cynthia! I have to admit that I too have given in to the lure of the Halloween decorations. This is my absolute favorite time of year. I went out and purchased some new additions to our haunted graveyard, over the weekend. I just can’t seem to help myself ** LOL ** Bring it on! By the way I loved “In The Dark”. Have a great week.
Glad you had a great weekend; I had to work but had today off and enjoyed myself with grocery shopping and then reading: just finished Belong to the Night and loved it.
Congrats on finishing the page edits! And on hitting your groove with your current WIP! We worked outside in the yard all weekend and I had the mosquito bites to prove it. I’ve seen the Halloween decorations and costumes (and candy) at Target already. We love to check out all the goodies and creepies on the Halloween isles. *G* I can’t wait for Halloween, it’s my favorite time of the year! (And I can’t wait to take my costume poll again this year, I do one every year. Last year we had more Spider Man than any others.)
Have a great week!
Yep. Already seeing Halloween. It’s spooky and fun. Bring on the Candy Corn. LOL.
Looking forward to your month of monsters.
Went to the movies and then watched Sy Fy
Heather, congrats on the new house!
LOL, Amber, I love characters like that!!
Hey, Edie! Aw, I would have been disappointed, too, if they didn’t have the Halloween artwork! What is up with that?!
Ohhh…Barb, a haunted graveyard? That is so cool!! And I am very happy that you enjoyed In The Dark–thank you!
Hi, Diane!! Thank you!!! 🙂 I’m so very glad you enjoyed the story!
Brandy, this is my favorite time of the year, too. Actually, I feel like now until Jan. 1 is non-stop party time at my house.
Taige, I have already attacked the candy corn! Oh, man, I love that stuff!
I love Halloween….we had to check out what Target had out, but they don’t have too much out other than the candy~~and had to buy my Halloween paper towells and napkins, lol. Love to have those!!
Speaking of trains~~we went to see Disney’s A Christmas Carol Train Tour on Sat. It was awesome!! It was free, so lines were kind of long, but so worth it. They had some original Dickens work, some of the costumes they used to work from, lots of techno pics from how they animated it….Myself, my 16 yr old daughter and my 13 yr old nephew loved it. They’re going to 36 states, so if they come close, espcially if your son loves trains, go see it!! It friendly to all ages.
Melissa, I went to Target yesterday and my store only had about 1/3 of their decorations out–I was so disappointed! 🙂 But I’ll be strong and go back again soon.
That Disney Train Tour sounds awesome. I will definitely check it out. Thank you for the tip!
Oh, I love Halloween too. 🙂 If you go to my blog, you’ll find a link to where there’s a Halloween art/decoration giveaway. 🙂
